How is your testing going with ACE?
My results are not very encouraging.

A lot of times the wrong program is being recorded; inaccurate EPG.
Other times my playback of the recordings speed up at times, stutter at times, and are generally unwatchable for me.

I did notice that some of the recordings play back better in VLC then they do in NPVR.

If you've got an example recording, I'm happy to take a look.

I've had no problems recording programs or viewing live TV. You are right about inaccurate EPG, I've run across that a few times.

I've done some more testing, and it's possible my problems are in-house.
I'll keep testing.

Thanx for your response.

I've just had some time to play again with the IPTV support after a fairly hectic few months with work. I've noticed the new legacy demux still doesn't work well and crashes pretty much straight away yet the legacy one works fine. Is this a known issue still sub or is there something messed up with my system?

I was also trying to create a custom m3u file for import but can't seem to find a channel number tag that works if I do an import in the IPTV devices page. Is this something that is supported at all?

Is your AAC decoder set to the Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder? If so, this patch should fix it:

Where exactly in the m3u are you specifying the channel number? Can you have me an example channel from your file?

Awesome work! That patch solves the issue for me. I do just have one remaining issue and that's with most of the FTA Australian channels that are mostly all on Akamai not working. I use DNS4ME and these feeds work fine in a browser and VLC.

The m3u8 file I have doesn't have channel numbers in it. I'm merely trying to create my own as I only want to add the channels I really want. The problem is when I import the file the channel numbers all start at 1. Is there a tag I can add that will map to a NPVR channel number?

#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="NBC.us" tvg-name="NBC WEST" tvg-logo="https://s3.amazonaws.com/stricons/NBC.us.png" group-title="USA",NBC WEST

Great.

I don't have a VPN/DNS service for Australia, so can't easily check this myself. If you're able to supply some logs I'll check what's happening.

I haven't seen any tag for channel number in the m3u files I've seen, so it doesn't currently support one. I had thought you might have found one that was worth adding. The closest I've seen is the name portion of the #EXTINF line seems to sometimes have the number in this type of format: ",4 - NBC WEST", which I could add support for.

I had never really looked much into m3u files and just assumed there was somewhere in them to specify a channel number tag but it seems this isn't the case.

How difficult would it be to add an option in the IPTV settings to specific a starting channel number for imports? ie start allocating IPTV channels from channel 500 onwards when you import a file? This could also mean you could import from multiple sources and they also wouldn't override each other.
