Marbles_00 Wrote:K, the database will build using the build that Snooze indicated to downloaded. When I start the Viewer, it wants to build/update the database saying it's more than "x" days old. So I do it and it gets to a foreign film and dies with this JIT error:

Attached are the log files. Not sure if this all is related to anything else.

This is a problem with your queue update. A couple of things I need you to do:

1) Go into your ini file and change the time to renew to some number greater than 0. This is the number of days (minus two) that the database builder waits before updating your database. I have mine set to 4 days, so it updates every other day.
2) Change your "open sgid=0" to "open sgid=307". You need to do this because the problem is with your queue builder, so you can't view your queue (sgid=0) until I get it fixed.

These two things will allow you to run the program (most likely) until I get the new release out. The items below I need before I can put out my next release:

1) Follow: http://www.netflix.ca/Queue?inqt=wn&lnkc...ELECTRONIC when it redirects you, copy the web address and paste it here.
2) Then while on your instant queue, go to File -> Save As. Save as queue.html and attach it to your post.

If you need step by step directions, then send me a private message and give me your e-mail address. I'll reply with step-by-step instructions and screen shots of how to do this.

I understand your confusion now, you don't have a queue tab.

What type of account do you have, is it online only?

I have the recently viewed list complete and you don't even need to delete your database. I'll put out a new release as soon as I figure out what is going on with Marbles.

Well, I just signed up after finding this app (so yeah its an online account...didn't realize they had any other type), so I'm taking advantage of the "first month free" right now. Maybe after, and I'm an actual paying customer, that's when you get the queue stuff.

Anyways, I just wanted to add, that I was successful at creating a database, even selected a movie to show the kids. Now in the listing, I didn't get the coverart. How does one do that? Also how do you select the different genre's? I'm using a hauppauge remote...guess I could just look through the irremote.ini file.

Want to say a big thanks for your help so far. Hopefully I can lend a hand in fixing your bug...I don't mind being the guinea pig, if it ends up helping others.

EDIT NOTE:
I tried the link in your help file under "Additional Info" that supposed to take you to the Netflix apps, so you can rate your application...well the link is broken (or at least up here in Canada). Just thought you should know.

One of my older modifications to the irremote.ini (named irremote.ini.txt) is located in the zipped download file you got off the sagetv site that you got the original app from. If you ever edited your Irremote.ini file, it is self explanatory.

After backup your original file, modifying your ini file, remember to restart your remote for the changees to take affect.

I have since changed it slightly to work a little cleaner for me, but may affect other things you have your remote doing since I modify the default section as well, so one must be careful not to overwrite something else. I also still need to add the new filtering feature DH just added, but I been watching football. Big Grin

Let me know if you have any problems with the one provided.

Oh, and DH is wondering what type of account you have... obviously it is a trial version, but there is a new type of account you can have... when he refers to online only, there is a new type where you do not receive any DVD's in the mail, just the ability to stream online. I dont, and I dont think he has a online (streaming) only account as this is a new offering from netflix, and it may be a little different than ours is, meaning to get the information to download, it may be different to get. Is this the type you have? Do you have two seperate queues (a DVD queue and a watch instantly queue) when you look at your account online?

EDIT: Lastly, since you are brand new to this... do you have anything saved to your watch now queue for the app to recognize at the moment?

If it was that easy... is "Recommendations" too much to ask?? LOL Big Grin I don't have any snow to shovel at the moment so my mind is wandering!!!

EDIT: I notice after using filtering (ctrl B) and applying my filter preferences, my windows taskbar stays on top. If I force TX Desktop to the top, the windows task bar comes back on top after a few arrow clicks down... that happening to you DH? Do you autohide your task bar? I can try autohide mine, thats the way I usually have it, but I been moving into this newer machine I built 3 years ago and I been doing a lot of tinkering until now. I just solved a horrible standby issue that turned out to be old Saitek Joystick Software/Drivers. It was my gaming PC before.

Also, what do you think about filtering rated movies? Is that possible? I know we have the option to not download them, but is nice to re-watch sometimes, but otherwise get them out of the way.

Hey marbles,

OK that explains it. You are correct, the free accounts do not have queues. I'm not sure why, but they got rid of that a few months back. As long as you don't open the program with open sgid=0 and don't select "My Queue" for your genre you should be fine.

The ini file has not been updated to include genre switching, Snooze is working on that. I don't use a hauppage remote, so I rely on Snooze for that. But if you open the options menu, you can select a genre in there to display. Again just stay away from "My Queue" until your account becomes fully active. You can also perform keyword searches using the search screen. All the info should be in the help file (press F1 on main menu).

Once you get a queue, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know if it is working for you.

Also - I found out last week that Netflix's API does not support Canadians, not sure why. I'm assuming they haven't gotten around to updating that API for your use, since the catalogue of movies is different. So as such, I'm not sure if all of the features will work or not (e.g. rating movies, queue management). Most of the features in my program do not rely on the API, so you shouldn't notice much of a limitation.

Thanks,

DH
