Hi, Downloaded the new plug and installed. I do notice that if you put too much information in the description you get a error. It seems it over run the next box
which is the actors in the movie. I am only adding 4 lines of description to the box and is very condensed. Is there any way to enlarge that box to allow more
movie description?. I also am getting the same errors. I sent the log.

"Update". I did Removed the whole Third party MoviesPlugin folder and reinstalled it, I then added the two movies to the database and added some information to movies. It is now working. I tried both movies and both played. So it seems it
is now working. I would like to see more area for the Information on the movie expanded it seems to get a error if you
add too much.

Here is a shot of the DB Management tool with error. I added a shot of the
Movies page too.

Well I'm relieved we finally got the first problem fixed for you.

For the next problem, it most likely is because of the quotes you have i the description ("Factotum") There also is an apostrophe on (don't) Right now I just have generic error checking to catch when there are problems like that (", ', &, etc.) have special meaning in programming languages. I'll add in the ability to use those but it's lower down on my priority list right now.

So for now just take out the quotes and the apostrophe for your description and try it again. Let me know if that doesn't work though as there might be something else.

You can move around and change the sizes of the text areas, including the description box, by editing the skin.xml in the movies folder in your active skin directory. The specific ones you'll want are for the description field the height and width. However if you change those then you'll probably need to move around the other fields too so there isn't any overlap. I'm doing no error checking though on skin modifications so BE VERY CAREFUL when you're editing that file. And make a copy of it too before you start editing it just so you have something to fall back on if it does get too messed up.

EDIT:
Actually for your specific overlap you may be able to get away with changing instead of the description, try to change the actors part and make the Ypos about 40 higher than what it is now and that'll clear out the overlap. But if you want the larger description you will still need to increase the height on that one too and also move down the actors by changing the Ypos.

Good luck,

Yea, I changed the Ypos to 350 and it Lowered the Actors to where they are
not overlapping. I did remove the "and ' out of the Description. That seemed
to do the trick.

So does that take care of all of your outstanding problems or is there anything else still lingering? Watch on the wiki for when I get the special character thing implemented. It'll be along but likely not for a short while.

Ok good to hear. Personally I prefer the larger actors box since I use IMDb for all my information and it has small descriptions (2-3 lines) but alot of actor information. Just preference is all. I put the skinning ability in so that people can make it whatever fits their style better.

Let me know if anything else crops up for you and I'll do what I can.

I do notice when i am searching in IMDb. It is searching it uses the movie title
that is listed in the directory or the file itself and searched for that in IMDb.
Is it possible to change where is searches to from file name to movie title.
It seems that if you have them labeled by For example Factotum.iso and
it will not find the movie. You can not change the File name and delete the
Iso from it due to DB Mange tool not finding the file. Does that makes sense??.

It depends at what point it is doing the lookup. If you're performing the lookup from the File Mgmt tab, then it uses the filename, cuts off the extension and looks on IMDb.com for a movie by that name. If it doesn't find it that way it bypasses the info, adds the movie into the database by just the filename with a blank title.
If you then go into the Movie Info tab, you will see the filename and a blank title. Fill in the title there as appropriate (movie title, not file name) then when you click the IMDb or Amazon lookup buttons it will do the lookup based specifically on what you have typed into the title slot. If it fails there just try a different title and look it up again.
Does that answer your question?
