  • Supports turning off the display on shutdown/standby
  • Supports clock display

The only way to "shut down" the VFD is to send two blank lines to the display.

Also, The VFD doesn't have a built-in clock or any display control... so the clock option is not possible for that hardware.

but I'd expect it to be back to this display.

It appears it isn't reseting the bottom line if a recording is going on.

Also when it completes the recording, it changed to
###############
R1 #############

but I'd expect it to be back to this display.

I took a look at the code but I have a question before I try to fix the problem. Can you Record something, wait till the VFD updates with the R1, watch a video ( you should then have something like:
Video Name
R1 Video
displayed). Then exit the video and tell me what is displayed. This will help me track down the issue with the code. Thanks.

I think I found the problem...can you try this version and let me know if it works? If it does I will then upload it to the wiki.

Definitely better, but it helped me see something else that I didn't directly mention last time.

I started recording and had this (note the space between the 1 and #)
###############
R1 #############

Tried Live TV/Recordings/Video and it displayed just as I'd expect.

I then went back to the main menu and expected it to show the same thing as above, but instead it filled in the extra space. I'm not sure why the space was there to start with. So it looked like this
###############
R1##############

I then tried Tried Live TV/Recordings/Video and it didn't take care of the new #. So I got something that looked like this
7 ABC
R1# LiveTV

I then went back to the menu and again it displayed as I would expect.
###############
R1##############

The program then ended and it took off the R1, but didn't fill it back in with #
###############
##############

Thanks,
David

OK, I think this will behave a bit more predictably. I have not tried it out as I don't have access to my HTPC. Again, if you can give it a try and let me know how it goes I would appreciate it.

Thanks for the update. I've been testing it out quite a bit today and will continue. The only thing I noticed so far is that before recording it was
################
################

During the recording it properly changed to
################
R1##############

But after the recording, it didn't replace the R1 with the ##. Instead it just put 2 blanks there.

I'm curious, does the 1 in R1 signfy which device is recording or is it the number of tuners doing the recording?

The 1 specifies the number of recordings occurring.

Hello,

Just got a Antec Black Fusion V2 case for a new GBPVR system i'm assembling. The included VFD software has not even touched it since I read about this plugin - it seems to work great!

I just have one request - if you are still making improvements-

The LCD version has lots of Nice icons which are documented on the imonapi.tripod.com page. I've been pouring over the wiki source code and cannot for the life of me see where you set the L-R icons from. (I'm more of a hardware guy than a software guy, I dabble in VB and C+, but thats about it! C# has so far baffled me!)

I was hoping to use the Icons in some way, such as lighting the "TV" Icon when Using Live TV, Spinning the Disk Icon and lighting the "REC" icon, whilst a recording is in progress, that sort of thing.

Any chance this sort of thing could be incorporated in to the next release, or any chance you could at least point out to me where the icon handling take place in your code or in that general direction?

Regards

Yes it does;
using the modified IMONVFD.dll code by cybrmage from page 4 and the latest SG_VFD.dll (5. something, came with latest driver set). Works great!
