unable to get this to work

One transcoding option is okay with me, I would only be wanting to use it within my LAN for aTV2 clients (running XBMC/X-NEWA etc.) and then for the PC's running XBMC I would just stream direct either with LiveTV and/or X-NEWA....that's possible right?

So I am gathering I need to install VLC on the NextPVR sever and then do the settings using http://<nextpvr-server>8866 (like the URL you sent me) on the server....then on the client just enable VLC?...I do not need to do any network shares or anything?

Yes whatever you do on the ATV2 will be independent from your other boxes. I have updated X-NEWA to 1.4.5 and VLC LiveTV should now work, I tested from analog, hdpvr and atsc stations. No shares are used in vlc streaming but you do have to allow the configured vlc port through the host firewall.

OK...great....you're a champ.

So my understanding is the follows:

1. On the aTV2 in X-NEWA settings enable VLC
2. On the NextPVR server in NEWA (accessed via HTTP) enabled VLC with the settings on the URL you sent me
3. On the NextPVR server ensure I have VLC installed (maybe 32-bit and 64-bit should be installed)
4. Ensure I have the right ports allowed on the NextPVR server (I just have my firewall off on the server whilst testing to eliminate those types of issues)

Sound about right?

X-NEWA 1.4.5 is downloadable now? If i want to update do I only need to install as a new ZIP or un-install the 1.4.4 version first?

2 Yes but there is also a general player screen where you set the size reduction and network speed, which UJB uses to do some magic for streaming
3 I assume just 32 bit vlc, but my backend is 32 bit so I am not sure.

When I bump version numbers you just need to install from zip.

Not sure where I am looking wrong but I cannot find the 'general player screen' whereby I can make those adjustments :-(

I was lost too. Go to Manage recordings, click stream.

Umm..no..you mean in the http://<serverip>:8866 right? I cannot find the 'stream' option sorry...

Oh, also since going to 1.4.5 from 1.4.4. the settings in X-NEWA aren't retained when I exit...
