Since I could not find the program to run I let my cat find it.  She did.  So I shut it down in task manager services and ran the program.  A command window opened and many lines of text scrolled by and it finally stopped scrolling.  Closed cmd window, started nextpvr, tried live TV.  I got a message it is unable to connect to remote server.
Web version will not even start.

To run it this way, you need to open a command window. Then run the NextPVRServer.exe (make sure you don't accidentally run NextPVRService.exe). That will run the NextPVR Recording Service in that window. Then do your test from whatever client. You may get additional errors/information from the output in the command window. And/or the problem might not happen when the Recording Service is run in this manner. Either of those things could be helpful to sub in trying to diagnose your problem.

Don't worry about trying to manually run it if you're having problems doing that. See if installing this patch helps. It fixed the issue for arrbee99

i am having this same issue, i tried to download the zip but it just opens a new tab that is blank in my browser.

I have changed both files and still am experiencing stopped play back, when i watch the server it get this before it stops

We've discussed how you can solve this before https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid535432 Don't expect this page in the browser to work after a restart of the server software or the PC.

Download all the logs from the Settings page and the upload and carefully attach the zip file to your post.  Consider fully installing NextPVR as a service instead of test mode.
