Try this: 1) Goto: http://www.netflix.com 2) Sign out (click on your name in top right --> sign out) 3) Delete your temporary internet pages (tools --> Internet Options --> "delete" button --> temporary internet files --> "OK" button) 4) reboot 5) Goto: http://www.netflix.com 6) Login and MAKE SURE "Remember me on this computer" option is checked. 7) try program again Let me know if that works. -DH

No, that did not change anything. There must be something different about cookies in Win7. They are stored under the AppData folder which is a special protected folder. Do you need to find the cookie file, or just call IE and expect it to work? Any ideas what to try next? I can put my password in a text file.

I have had other win7 users in the past and it has never been an issue. Let me do some research and see if something changed recently. -DH

I need you to check something for me. I need to know if you are running IE in protected mode. How to check: From the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab. Select the applicable Web content zone, and chcek if the Enable Protected Mode check box is checked or not. Apparently cookies are not shared between integrity levels in Win7. So you need to be in administrator mode in IE when you set the cookie for netflix. Or I need to open my program in protected mode. IGNORE THIS POST. i AM JUST GOING TO ADD A COOKIE CHECK TO MY PROGRAM AND LOAD A WEBBROWSER IF IT SEES YOU ARE NOT LOGGED IN. tHAT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. Sorry for the caps, forgot to turn them off ![]() -DH Apparently

wow cool program, I'm trying to get netflix working on my linux htpc, so had to install a winxp virtual machine, got windows all updated and netflix was working with internet explorer. that was all fine and good but not much use on a SD tv at 720x480. Next step find a frontend made for tv output, found this on the netflix app list and here I am.
Now this program looks exactly what I want. First off I ran the Database Build exe and it went through most of step one until it started loading 'my queue' when it hung and eventually crashed. Noticed the Canadian option in the ini file (I'm Canadian), deleted my netflix folder and unzipped 2.8.60 again, changed Canadian to true and re-run Database Build again. This time it completes step 1 and gets about 700 movies scrapped then pops up and closes with an error too quickly to read. I left the app open and opened the netflix website and it complains that cookies are not enabled. Closed IE, opened the temp internet folder and deleted all files including cookies, opened IE again logged into netflix then the Database Build continues where it left off. I had to do this a few times, it seems to get stuck each time it scrapes around 700 movies. After it completes the scraps it gets stuck at loading my previously viewed shows and never completes after that. So to sum it up it seems like the Canadian api or netflix api doesn't like around 700 concurrent scrapes. Also if the build app fails because of a time out it leaves the dbase incomplete and you have to delete it and start from scratch (Database Build doesn't run again without copying the blank dbase file over the original. The Previously Watched url must have changed on the Canadian site because it always times out. I'm running the queue only option build right now to make a log since it runs a lot quicker and gets stuck in the same spot, I'm running the Database Build again because I deleted the folder again including the logs. running winxp sp3 all the dot net versions and SPs installed via microsoft update. **edit** Forgot to mention I'm running IE 8 with override accept first and third party cookies and always allow session cookies enabled in the advanced privacy settings. Also I know that the Canadian site is changing so this is probably not unexpected. |
