I think the problem is with Amazon and IMDB, it seems when you do a search
i will list several ones that are close and not just go to one you are searching
for. You have to then click the one that you want. I have tried to change
the movie title and movie file name as it is for the search and still no matches.

What is the name of the movie you're trying to lookup? I'll take a look at it tomorrow when I get back home and see if I can use it to improve my logic for finding the right movie.

Factotum or Lady in the Water. I manually added the Information to them in the
DB Mgmt Tool .

Navyguy,

Thanks for this nice plugin. I installed the plugin this morning on my test machine and run the "Movies Plugin Management.exe" tool. It find information for 13 of the 25 DVD I have stored on my HD. The stored DVD's is a mix of ISO files and the structure of a DVD (video_ts) in a folder named to the DVD title.

The questions I have is...

-I seems that the not discovered DVD titels are the ones with the DVD structure in a folder. What must I do to discovered them with the
"Movies Plugin Management.exe" tool ? (convert them to ISO ?)

-Is the skin adjustable? I don't like to see the navigation buttons and make the other fields bigger so more room to display the movie art or the movie story

-Is it possible to run the "Movies Plugin Management.exe" on onother pc? So it is easy to put in some info with the hand?

Thanks in advance. If you like i do some testing let me know.....

Just wanted to say great plug in....well done!
Are there any plans to get this plug in the same theme as community skin ?
Is this something you would do, or a volunteer ?
(I don't really understand enough about skinning to do it myself)
well done again!

Thanks, it's always good to know people appreciate your work Smile

As for your questions, the tools won't be able to find a dvd structure but you are right that converting them to .iso would work just fine.
The skin is adjustable, look in your active skin directory for the Movies folder the skin.xml file is what you want. You can move around sections and make them the sizes you want although I don't yet have resizing the poster which sounds like it's something you'd like to do. Probably that'll be in the next round of updates though, I'm going to focus on the skin and try to add some other stuff like buttonspacing as well as full controls for all items. It's kind of basic for now, but play around with what is in there and see if you can get something more to your liking. And if there's something you can't make it do but would like to, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

You could run the management tool from another pc it just has to reside in the same folder as the movies.mdb file which has to reside on your gbpvr computer. If you have file sharing enabled on your home network you could just run it from a shared folder on the gbpvr computer or you could run it on a separate computer then just copy the database over onto the gbpvr computer (make sure you input the movie filenames based on the actual gbpvr computer though). At some point I could look into a client/server type architecture for it maybe although I hadn't really thought about it at this point.

As for the question McBainUK already took care of it. Let me know if there's anything specific you'd like to see the skin do and I'll see what I can do.

navyguy, I have 2 feature request for your new excellent plugin. I have not tried the latest release but I have not seen any reference to my requests. I will try tonight so if these request already are implemented I offer my apologies.

1. Using the tool to initially batch load all movies, it does not find my movies in IMDB that are split into multiple files, eg. Match Point D1.avi and Match Point D2.avi. The request is that D1 and D2, etc is excluded in the lookup towards IMDB.

2. Grab user rating from IMDB, (ie., 7.8/10).

Many thanks in advance.

I've been tossing around ideas in my head of what to do with your point 1, I've got a bunch of those type movies myself and I've not yet come up with a satisfactory conclusion how to handle them. I don't much like the idea of making some kind of naming convention (i.e. forcing everyone to use d1 or d2 or disk 1 or disk 2) but that's most likely what I'll end up with, but I want to keep thinking on this one to see if I can come up with something better.

As for number 2 I could do that pretty easily I think although it would mean a database change which I've hashed out in my head but haven't coded into my install program yet.

So for the short version, yes and yes but it will take me a bit get to both.
