The log looks fine, but it is definitely sounding like it's something to do with the H.264 decoder not working.

If you've got access to WinTV v7, install that and try selecting the ArcSoft H.264 decoder.

What do you think about my suggestion that it may be caused by .NET updates or windows updates?
I could install them 1 by 1 to see which one is causing the problem. But would that help you, or do you think the problem is only applicable to my pc?

I don't think that would be the case, otherwise we'd have seen a lot of reports.

On my system I can't watch h264 with h/w decoding and after each full reboot WMC services gets turned back which kills h264.

Sub, I've got one!

I've been testing with recording long shows on the digital card (in this case SD channel) and now I've got a video of 0s, no errors in the logs. Strange timestamps (you can see in the printscreen).

I've stopped recording service to copy the logs, restarted recording service and now the tray icon doesn't work properly (right-click isn't working), which I experienced at the other times of this problem also.

The ndigitalhost log includes ...

Quote:2012-11-23 09:42:22.032 [DEBUG][4] Calling LockChannel()
2012-11-23 09:42:22.032 [DEBUG][4] locked=0, present=0, strength=0, quality=0 (took 0ms to check)
2012-11-23 09:42:22.032 [DEBUG][4] DigitalRecorderDVBC::Tune() tuning done
The zero values often show that no data is being received from the tuner. I suspect that NextPVR ignores the zero values because some devices report zero values when they are working normally.

No data being received from the tuner is very likely since the file is 0kB.

What I notice is that recording started 9:42 and ended at 11.00 but newcs first entry is 10:46:09 and last entry 10:53:03, I don't think this is normal.

In menu recordings, NPVR says "Recording service was stopped during recording".

Also, acamd has no entry at this time at all.

And what does the last line of this fragment mean (recording service dequeued request to cancel):
2012-11-23 09:42:22.105 [DEBUG][8] Starting: C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts\ParallelProcessing.bat "E:\Recordings\Tommy Teleshopping\Tommy Teleshopping_20121123_08001100.ts" 6 2501 21
2012-11-23 09:42:22.409 [DEBUG][8] recording service dequeued request to cancel (2500)

And NTray is malfunctioning after this problem and was every time this problem occurred.

This morning at 7:47, everything was working normal as you can see in acamd and newcs logs.

I attached acamdlogs (I forgot in the previous post).

I was thinking that if it were newcs not starting that caused the problem, that would show in the logs of acamd. But since there's nothing in the acamd log, it must be acamd not starting that's the problem.

If Newcs dies Acamd will hang, and thus not make any entry in the log. When Ntray stops working is is 99% because Nrecord has died or hangs.

I'm sorry, but you lost me here. What do you think is the cause? Newcs dying causing Acamd to hang causing Ntray to stop working?
