Yes best place for this now I guess is YouTube teasers!

Reminds me I really should help to do some work on the YouTube plugin for the wiki......

WHAT ME Big Grin

Yes very curious of course, Martin has me sussed! Curiosity, apparently, killed the cat. But they have 9 lives don't they? I'm only on my 4th Wink

Quote:This is a good thing because he can write it up for the wiki after he understands it!

Yes of course I will. And I will try to make it my best wiki work yet to date Big Grin

Watching this thread.........

Many thanks Martin for taking the solid core of NextPVR created by sub and exploring all the possibilities and enhancements possible.

v best all and cheers

My RasPi arrived in the mail last week with exactly the thought of installing XBMC and streaming from my media server. Adding NPVR support just seals the deal for me!

Plus Raspbmc RC5 is due out in a few days and includes turbo mode support and I believe the CEC Feature will work as well.
Did you purchase the codec licences yet?

Here is an updated sample of X-NEWA playing LiveTV from the EPG http://youtu.be/uYPXw8wV1XU The first three shows are basic analog, then 2 HDPVR and then a could of ATSC which probably will be what DVB users will experience.

This sample is on Frodo alpha5, but it works on OpenElec 1.97 and Eden too.

Dear all,

I have done some reading and obviously also following this thread!

I am tempted to get one of these Rasbperry pi's as a test platform as a potential extender to my home Media Centre set up....

Have I got this right as a good investment?

Maplin in UK are currently listing this:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/raspberrypi?_&#3...3634219094

Is this a good deal?

Martin often I do find it hard to follow your genius!?

How does sub feel about integration of NextPVR but as a backend TV server for xbmc? etc etc.

The demo vid on you tube IMHO is too fast Wink Blimey I am whingeing again! You demonstrate the speed with which the plugin works but the actual interface gets lost in translation!

Hope you guys understand where I am coming from! I am a NextPVR user through and through. But do like xbmc..

cheers

Sub release for 2.5.9 is 100% his work so I think he likes it. My stuff is focusing on older builds of XBMC that are quite a bit more stable. If you look at the announcement thread, his video is longer.

Thanks Martin,

just wanted to check all on board. Look like a v promising way to go...... Providing us Windows based peeps that don't want to git are on board too!

Had a nice play with my Cousin's Linux based xbmc last night...

Still need to know from larger brains than mine..

Looks OK but can this Raspberyy pi only run linux?

cheers all

It's just a shame that the package doesn't include an empty cereal box, some sticky-backed plastic and simple instructions for casing it up nicely to match your lounge decor... Big Grin

Steeb,

It depends, If you need all the added hardware that the packages comes with or not. I had most of the parts in left over parts...
So I didn't need the package deal.

Now for the NPVR Stuff:

I have Martins plugin running in both the RaspBMC and OpenELEC on the RPi

I also compiled and got Subs PVR plugin working on OpenELEC but not raspbmc.

They are a slower on the Pi than in the video, but after the initial load they run pretty well.

The Pi may be better for us tech types.
