NextPVR AppleTV app

I am disappointed. I just purchased it and it is very buggy. Here are the bugs I found so far while watching a 2hr recording of America's Got Talent:

* the skip forward/back doesnt work it usually restarts the video.
* the progress bar does not accurately track the video's position
* if I exit the video it does not remember my playback position
* I cant figure out how to delete recordings

I've looked in the OP and this sub-forum, but I can't find any instructions on gathering logs. What log(s) do you need? Where do I find them? This alone seems like information that could be stickied, or at least in the OP.

And, for a quality of life suggestion, please look into turning Fast-Forward and Reverse into the same 10 sec interval Netflix has. The AppleTV remote is awful for using touch to swipe forwards and backwards. Oftentimes I wind up skipping back/forward even further when I depress the remote button.

I was running 4.2.4 up until 5 minutes ago, when I installed 4.2.5. I have not tested the new behavior yet, but going by the release notes I don't expect the behavior to change.

I'm not aware of any reason you'd get that. Is there any chance you could temporally make your server available over the internet, and PM me the address/pin? I'll try connecting to your server to see what it doesn't like.

We're only able to get logs for the backend, and both v4 and v5 have a 'zip my logs' button in their settings screen. I suspect it would not show the cause of a crash on the Apple TV side though.

FWIW, I recently ran the NextPvr app on the current iOS on an iPhone 8+ both on the current v4 and v5.  Going to TvGuide in the app would crash everytime after connecting to v4 but never happens connected to v5.  Also the NextPvr app still has the problem of not showing EPG content until I touch todays date, as described HERE.  It's as if it needs a date touched because it doesn't refresh the content by going to the TvGuide tab alone.

I've still not been able to reproduce this one here, using various phones or with Apple's development simulators.

I'm out of the country for the next 10 days, but will take another look at it when I'm back.

What type of source are you capturing video from?

This is recorded using NextPVR 4.2.4 from NBC using my HDHomeRun Quatro. The file is a .ts file.

This sounds similar to the problem I have been having with recordings from my HDHR Primes in 4.2.4 when there are back-to-back recordings on different channels. Can you post your logs (shortly after one of these bad recordings is made) and let us know which show it is?

I don’t believe the recording is bad. I can watch it without issue in NextPVR on my PC. It only has a problem on my Apple TV. If the logs will help I’m happy to send them.

The Tv Guide doesn't fully populate at first on my iPad Mini 2 just the same as it does on my iPhone. Demonstration video HERE.

Would it be possible for the iOS & TvOS app have an Advanced button alongside the Record Once & Record Series buttons like the web app has?

I think two adjustments to the tvOS app that would help a lot are:
* make the app remember the playback position when you exit the player.
* dial back the sensitivity of the video player position scrubber, in a 2 hr recording I find it nearly impossible to scrub only 3 or 4 minutes ahead.

A "nice to have" improvement would be to have it support comskip files but...
