This means the two hour time issue is on your/gbpvr's end.

When you load the xml file in (using the xmltv plugin in the capture sources) did you make sure that little box that says only use as required read 00:00?

I checked it, it read 00:00 so I tried changing it to a 2 hour offset then I emptied the EPG and reloaded it but it was still 2 hours off. Any ideas?

Also, when I update the EPG, some of my channels are out of order.

I know all you want to do today is fiddle around with this crap, but I appreciate your time.

Ok,

Here's your "happy ending"

It worked great on my 2003 server when I got home. It must have been Yahoo's site being down last night that caused the problems. I haven't tested the automatic EPG update, we'll see how that runs in a couple days.

Thanks for the great work. I hadn't donated to GBPVR before, but once I realized how much I counted on it(when zap2it disappeared) I immediately donated. =)

Hi Guys,

I just downloaded version 1.2.0, which seems to work pretty good. But I noticed a bug that was giving me grief for a little while, and was wondering if anyone else had noticed it.

After I run the program the first time, and exit it, the yapi2xml.ini file's output line points to the ini file itself instead of the xml file (which it should).

Here is a step-by-step guide of everything I do:
-Download and Unzip the Binary
-Run "yapi2xml.exe"
-Put in my Zip (48035) and click "Get Providers"
-Click the "Options" button
-Change the Channel Format to "2: # Short"
-Click the "Save Settings"
-Select Provider (WOW Detroit - Detroit)
-Click the "Get Channels" button
-Click the "Save Settings" button
-Click the "Download and Parse Listings" button
-Wait for it to finish parsing...
-Close Program
-Check yapi2xml.ini - Output no longer points to the XML file, but instead points to the ini file.

If I were to run the program again (without resetting the output file location), it would overwrite my ini file, which would then cause problems running UpdateEPG.bat.

Has anyone else noticed this yet?

Yes, i had this bug happen once but couldn't figure out how to reproduce it. I'll follow those instructions with pauses and fix that bug in a couple hrs and have a bug fix out.

And glad its working for you ski098, sub really did do a nice job with gbpvr.

I'll load your EPG into my machine in an hour or two and see what i can figure out.

Edit: obviously didn't quite get to this with all the other bugs, it is odd that changing that didn't change the EPG. I will definitely test it later in the morning today.

Any solution to the "Corrupted file" issue? It tries to download it 5 times and fails everytime. If I put in Dish as the provider it works fine. I am entering 80116 as the Zip and directv-denver as the provider and it is a no go everytime. its getting frustrating, i have tried about 25 times all with teh same result.

also what is the Current Settings button for? when i pushed it my channel line up got all messed up and i had to go through it again, which is time consuming.

attaching my log

thanks for your help

I thought everything was okay, but I'm getting this same problem.

It causes an error when GBPVR does it's EPG Update, which is a dialog box that won't go away (I have to remote to the computer and click on it with a mouse).

It seems like the "update" switch confuses the program as to which file is which. If I do it through the GUI, it works fine.

Thanks for the SWEET app! Smile

I have a suggestion for the Wiki. I noticed when deleting channels as instructed in the section below that it was taking quite some time to delete each one. I thought that perhaps it was deleting ALL data in the EPG for the channel before releasing the app to delete the next channel, so I clicked on the "Empty EPG" button. After that I could delete channels about as fast as I could click the button. Cool I've added the extra step in bold below:

Channels Out of Order or Duplicated

Many people are running into an issue where the channels are out of order or duplicated in GBPVR. This is an issue that occurs when changing lineups in the config application.

This solutions seems to work for most people:

* open the capture source
* click "Empty EPG"
* manually delete every single channel (you cannot shift click, you have to remove them one by one)
* click ok
* remove all the channels from any other tuners with this lineup
* click ok
* load the yapi2xml xml file for the first tuner (reload EPG)
* load the yapi2xml xml file for the second tuner (reload EPG)
* go to the channels tab and click remove all unreferenced channels

I also have a question about the Automatic Running section. Do we just need to move the "UpdateEPG.bat" file to the "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr" folder? Will the EPG then update itself every day?

Thanks!

ok maybe a less frustrated post will clarify my problems.

1. When I enter my zip (80116) and my provider (directc-denver) i go through and select all my channels and save settings. Then i click Get EPG or download and parse settings i get an error at the bottom that says "schedule file corrupt or not found all retries failed", but i look in the folder and there is a schedule.zip and a file in it. However it is only 1k. Although there is a file with a similiar name at the same level as the schedule.zip that is 67mb. And no XML file is created

2. if i exit YApi2xml and go back in i do not now how to get my channel listing back. if i click current setting it brings up what looks like my channel selection, however half of the channels are unchecked. and if i click Get EPG or download and parse i get the same error.

however it is choose Dish then it seems to go through and find the schedule.zip and downloads the channel info etc. do i need to put a different provider in there and go through and try to map out the channels? i am totally against a brick wall and the blood pressure is building. Please help!!

I know this isn't that hard but i need to get the XML file so i can update GBPVR.

The less frustrated one helps...

I think it'll work now. Yahoo sometimes doesn't create full files. This has nothing to do with my program but I just got your schedule which means it should work now.

This is definitely a new problem. The worst part is that it also affects the downloading of the listing in a big way. Like you can only get the first 200 channels or so.

Expect a fix for both of these in the next 1-2hrs.
