thanks for the info on how to change the size by hand, and I will report if that makes the channel names too small (though I certainly wouldn't mind... they're way too big as well!)

edit: my text size was defaulted to 13, so I changed it to 10. Looks pretty good now. The channel names are smaller now too, looks like they're the same size as the program info. I don't seem to have the effect that dshoup gets where the channel names get much smaller.

p.s. yes, I am using the new skin full time.

I just noticed a minor cosmetic bug with the 8-channel TV guide in SD. Between the bottom of the eighth row of the guide and the border, there's a thin black line a few pixels high, like the beginning of a ninth row.

screeny attached

yes, this shot is after I changed the text size to 10 as in my last post. but I noticed this extra line before the size change as well.

Guys,

Just installed HD version on a virgin system install and was playing around with plugins finding many that didn't work.

Looking at the errors in the logs, it's trying to find the background file in Comminity-SD which of course, I've not installed. In fact a search of the Community-HD directories reveals alot of skin.xml files with references to Community-SD files.

Is this something that's been missed?

Great work on the new system by the way!!!

Regards,

Ray.

Will look into the TV Guide "bug" next.

I got to tinkering with the Xrecord skin in the CS4-HD version and noticed the font has very jagged edges...this skin has a long history of this problem from CS3, so I know it is not anything you did when you modified it for the HD skin...but it would be great if we could find the solution to this as it is very prominent on a big screen TV.

I've been looking at the HD version on an MVP connected to a 16:9 widescreen TV

Looks good apart from on the Main Menu where the selected menu item text overflows the green box for any item longer than 12 characters (inc spaces).

What do I need to adjust the selected text size?

I am aware of this issue and have taken steps to correct it. Will have this fixed in next release.

This appears to be a scaling issue with Xrecord, as there is nothing in the skin that really can be done with it. Both blue, and the CS-XX skins use Arial "Bold" as the font. In the HD version, I use a larger font than what is in the SD version (as in blue), in the hope that it would not be as "jaggy".

You may try using other fonts or styles and seeing if that helps.
In ..\devnz\gbpvr\skin\Community-HD\baseskin.xml you can play with this file and make a few changes.
This line, 53.
<TextStyle name="Default" color="General" typeFace="Arial" size="20" style="bold"/>

(You can change typeFace to a different windows font, and try style of "bold" and "regular")

Does the MVP output in 16x9 format? I don't know if the SD version is better suited if it only outputs into 4:3 format.

As far as I'm aware the MVP output is in 16:9 format. I've also checked that's what's set in the config.xml.

Thanks for the info...I'll play with it a bit. For clarification, how is Xrecord different from the other plugins (you mention scaling...do other plugins not need to do that)? Would there be a way to make it work the same as other plugins like the original "Recordings" skin (it has razor sharp fonts)?

Thanks for getting this working for the new skin. Even with the jagged fonts, it's nice to have it available!
