@mattman: i don't know, if the newsreader can be skinned enough, but you could try to get rid of the rectangles and highlight the actual feed or news like highlighted list-elements in myvideos or like buttons. if possible.

sure thing, have alook at the attached zip file.

compare the .xml with another newsfeed skin side by side, see how images can replace rectangular boxes and so on...

note: do not try and load this into your skin, as it won't run until i supply the images for it. Still got some work to be done yet.

I've got the newsfeed plugin almost complete, i was going to drop you a line later on today, for a peek and your thoughts on it.

I would be happy to try and skin another plugin when time permits. I was thinking of trying My Pictures maybe... since i use that one alot. I am open for suggestions.

I was thinking about the panels too, newsfeed and possibly a weather panel displaying a simple weather icon with the current temperature on the main menu page...

A current weather, or temperature, or forecast out of the weather plugin and onto the main menu page would be really cool!

The weather plug-in can already send data forecast informaiton for the current daya and next day to the panel included with the video archive plug-in. Evn if you do not use the video archive plug-in, you can use the panel to see informaion on weather, upcoming recordings, active recordings, and now playing music. If you use the video archive plug-in you will also receive low disk space wrnings on the panel.
