got 2 samples, neither work on my tv.

interesting the kids tv sample reports as 11mins in duration when its really 30minutes.... im playing around with different ways to stream the file from the server, see if that can fix it.

they playback fine using a smb share in the emulator (which sadly doesnt work on an actual tv/br...)

so far nothing ive tried has worked. exact same issue if you play the files in plex. so its definitely the file.

may have to get sub to have a look at these, theres just something wrong with those files. we could ask samsung, and I'll try, but i doubt that will be a positive outcome and even if it was, it would be a long wait before anything was updated in their firmware.

I have had this set up for 6 years every player I have used and there have been some shit ones have played the files
You don't know till you ask
need some contacts at Samsung Smile
the 5900 has been updated a few times since I have had it so you never know

yeah ill ask, i need to supply them with a sample video however.

speaking as a developer and my experience with corporate stuff, theres just so many hoops to jump through, it has to be escalated, it may sit in a backlog for months if not considered high priority, it then needs to be programmed, QAed (which could take a while considering how many devices they have to support, including languages and stuff (updating docs etc)), it then needs to be pushed to every device.

i just dont see this being solved any time soon. the postprocessing.bat work around may just have to be it until either sub can work some magic (which would be quicker, assuming theres anything he can do) or samsung do actually update the firmware.

also those cheap players are playing the file via a smb/network share, this is doing an http stream so there is a difference. if samsung supported network shares i believe this wouldnt be an issue (since it works fine in the emulator via a network share).

Could you leverage the Plex DLNA player? My TV Server is the same as my PMS...?

Also, using the postprocessing.bat isn't really a solutions because I like to watch things time shifted, reason I want to dump XBMC is event on Gotham this hasn't been addressed....

I guess you haven't seen how much better the skipping is on the 5900
Even in plex the 5900 is better than the 6500
