I found more issues with looping in certain situations. Here's an updated file with the fix.

So no one else has had this happen? Or has no one else ever created an avi over 1 gig so never noticed this?

Can someone test creating an avi over a gig and see if this happens to them? Thanks.

I haven't changed any settings recently, but when comskip is running, I'll get a Windows error message asking me to debug or report the error to Windows. I ignored the warning, and now the files it failed on, won't play in GB-PVR. What's happening?

EDIT: I also checked the files, it says they are 0 KB so comskip "deleted" the file, it's still there, but 0 KB.

I just tested the script and created a 2,212MB avi and it looks fine. Do all of your +1Gig transcodes have that problem or just some?

Here's a link to the mencoder binary I used:

http://ffdshow.faireal.net/mirror/mplayer/mplayer.old/

I used the mplayer2005.11.23.Athlon-XP.7z build.

Maybe the files were originally 0kb and that's why comskip threw the error. I'm not sure how comskip could delete the file.

Check what comskip you are running.
There are reports of older versions of comskip crashing on long recordings.
And indeed, comskip will never delete its input file.

I'll give this version a try and see if it works for me, thanks.

Ok. I'll just hope it was a fluke. Luckily I didn't miss anything too important (just trashy MTV programming). I'll see if I run into problems again when I tape tonight.

Try dropping one of the bad avi's in mplayer. See if it plays. Hitting the right arrow key will allow you to seek ahead in the stream.

The file I tested with opened fine in Gspot but when I tried playing it tonight I got an error message. Mplayer could play it fine but it couldn't seek saying "Cannot seek in RAW AVI streams."
