Weird Hauppage PVR2 USB2+

Dont try to auto detect it. Just set it up for that card type.

If that doesnt work, tell use what exactly you tried, and what happened.

Originally, I installed the device with the CD provided in the box. I updated the drivers off the web when I saw that it was not being recognized by GBPVR. Everything that was installed by Hauppauge works fine. After reading the post, I uninstalled the device. After a reboot, the device was listed as an unknown USB device under sound, video and game controllers. I updated the drivers on the device using the drivers off the CD. Do you have an IM I can contact you at?

I outlined the steps I have taken. What should I do now?

Did you set up a capture source and select the PVR2 USB2 as the card type? If so, what happens when you try to view tv?

I receive an error window stating that I have not configured a capture device. If I select the checkmark on the capture device setup screen that says to display only the known devices, I receive an error saying that no devices are present.

Can you run graphedit (google for it) to check the names from direct.ini?

Do a google search for GraphEdit, then download it. Run it. Click the 'Insert Filters' menu option. Expand the various "WMD Streaming xxxxxx" filter categories, and check the names of the filters below:

FILTER_CROSSBAR=Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB2 Crossbar
FILTER_CAPTURE=Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB2 Encoder
FILTER_TV_TUNER=Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB2 TvTuner
FILTER_TV_AUDIO=Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB2 TvAudio

If these names are not exactly right, GB-PVR wont be able to use the device.
