Anybody know if there are any gotchas with installing VS .NET 2005 Express on a machine with VS .NET 2003 already on it?
Cheers,
Brian

Thanks. I'll give it a try - fingers crossed - you never can tell with MS products.

I've had 2003 and 2005 on the same machine since, well, 2005 became available I guess. Not even a twitch. I can't say that I've spent a LOT of time in 2003 since, but for the time I have spent there, it hasn't given me any issues. Can't see why you would have any issues.

How about VS 2003 and VS 2005 on the same machine?
Thinking of installing VS2005 tonight for .net 2.0 development.

Yeah i've got that, no problems, apart from double clicking on a .SLN you'll have to right click and choose the version.
Besides i quickly find I'm converting all VS2003 to VS2005 and .Net 2

Nary a twitch between my two versions of VS - they have been really very well behaved. Zero interaction between the two.
There can be some code changes when you first open a solution in 2005 that make going back to 2003 a bit problamatic, though. At the very least, keep a backup of your 2003 projects available. Have fun! |
