plugins that work under 97.7 and specifically Weather plugin

It seems to me that there are so many people who use the XRecord plugin suite (XRecord, XGuide, CDK Scheduler) that a large part of the community is kept from upgrading to 97.7 if XRecord isn't upgraded.

It seemed like jorm owned these for quite a while but I haven't seen postings from him recently. Is jorm no longer supporting XRecord?

XRecord and the XSuite of plugins will probably be updated, but I don't think by Jorm. The last time I talked with him every day life was cutting into hobby time (having two young kids will tend to do that). Anyways, I believe Fla will be making some updates and fixes to XRecord, so he'll probably be doing the 97.7 conversion as well.

my videos using a method sub removed (moved) and thus will cause errors when trying to look in gbpvr's recording schedule for record show info. sub said he has fixed this, so every version of my vids should work in the next release of gbpvr.

No, thats not what I said. I said the method is still there, but the ScheduleHelper.getInstance() method is returning an IScheduleHelper interface instead of the ScheduleHelper class, so you'll need to recompile your plugin and supply an updated version for people to use. Sorry again, but it had to be done.

i thought i read you said you removed it, but were going to put it back (put it in to 2 places). a lot of people still use older versions of the plugin, which i wont be updating.

Ok, it'll remain broken then. I suggest you remove it from the wiki to stop any people from downloading it in the future.

whats the big deal about not readding that method? would it really be a problem? just seems like a microsoft thing to do... (remove backwards compatibility)

I wont be adding it back in. I originally intended users to access this via this interface, but due to a bug in my code some developers started accessing it via the concrete class, which causes me problems with the being able to swap the implementation of this interface to other class, which I need to be able to do for a couple features I'm wanting to implement in the next release.

I've got a pretty good track record with maintaining backward compatibility, with plugins written back at the beginning of 2004 still working, but this one needed to be fixed.

For some reason, I can't seem to get the My Music Plugin to show (I have v 3RC1). It seems like it installs fine until the end, when it hangs up on a scan ( at the tail end of the install process). Then, though the dlls and the skins are all in the right directories, it doesn't show up on GBPVR's menu.

I have .net 2.0 and .9707 running

I plan on updating to 97.7 later today but don't want to lose my treasured weather. Does the weather plugin still work or will it need an update? It might also be a good idea to start a thread here in with what is known to work and what doesn't. Sub started a sticky under support but it puts the onus on him to keep it updated with the PM's and he has enough to do with release 97.7 and 2.0. Pretty scary how reliant I've become on GBPVR......

ive been using it every release of 0.970x so far, so its not an issue regarding the new version of gbpvr. post all the info and logs over on my forum.
