ComSkip Working but not 100%

Comskip seems to kinda work but it doesn't always skip 100% off the time. I mean sometimes commercials run for 20-30secs before skipping. And sometimes it skips too far and program recording is lost.

Are there any tweaks I can do?

good luck, For me it always worked ok, probably because I can use the default ini, as Erik (= mr. comskip) lives in the same country.

And take a look at the tuning manual (tuning.htm) and the readme.txt for the latest additions in tunable parameters.
Indeed, use the debugwindow to see what is happening and learn how to use the output_framearray to save you a lot of time when trying different settings.

That's weird. With the default configuration Erik gives us my Comskip works like 99.999999999% of the time or something ridiculous like that. I record a fairly wide variety of things and it is truly amazing how accurate it is. The only problems I can remember having is when The Daily Show was doing a spoof of local news and had lots of white flashes for transitions. I'd be curious to know what shows cause problems for you since I rarely see it.

Erik has lifted this little bit of complex programming to a whole new level.
It's infinitely tuneable, with abilities far beyond it's origins.
Set up a parallel or post processing.bat with different comskip.ini files for each channel, and it can be virtually 100% accurate all the time.
Yes, it does take perseverance to get it tuned, depending on where you live, and what channels you record on, but well worth the time.
Start with Erik's default settings, and see how it works.
If you find too many commercials not cut, make the settings stricter. If you find it's cutting show portions, relax them.
I have different .ini files I use, based on channel/program. If you need some general ideas, I can post the files, and let you test them on your system, then tweak the most likely candidate.

Comskip get's my vote as the single most important and effective addon/plugin one could wish for in a PVR. All the other plugins and addons are useful in some way, but comskip has the raw power to make actually watching recorded shows enjoyable.
