It appears to capture the codes from the remote, but does
not want to emit.

I know that this is probably 'flogging a dead horse' - but
it really is the very last thing I need to get GB-PVR working!

Thanks in advance,
Mike

I actually use an Actisys IR200L for controlling my cable box. I've not had any problems with it or changed any code in the support for this in probably two years. It might not like the IR signals your set top boxes uses though? I had an old Jerrold cable box that used non-standard IR signals that this device couldnt control.

It is a "standard" Scientific Atlanta box - the 1840, but the codes
are identical to the 2000.

Sigh! Any ideas on debugging why it is not sending?

You can check whether it is emitting anything at all by pointing it to a digital camera or digital camcorder. The ir will get visible in the camera if it is emitting anything.

Just a quick anecdote - I used to work for a company that made multimedia mobile phones, and my customer complained that if the phone records a video clip that fills up the entire memory or card, then phone crashes...
To debug this I put the phone to the side of my laptop (I was at the customer site debugging this) and started recording a few minutes of clip having moved a lot of stuff into the memory card by other means. I pointed it so that it was recording my hands typing. This was done so that the video encoder has something to byte it teeth into Smile
After the crash, I looked at the clip, and I kept seeing this light blinking where the laptop's CD drive is, but off to the side... I looked at the laptop and couldn't see what it could be. It the occurred to me that it was the IR port... Totally unmarked, completely indistinguishable from any other part of the laptop's otherwise also black case...
But at first, it completely baffled me because I was sure there was no IR port, having looked at the laptop and been unable to find it...

I have the same issue. IR200L with a DirecTV reciever. It worked with the previous .96 version, but doesn't work with the new .97 version.

I know GBPVR is interacting with it because I re-trained it just in case there was something strange between the versions.

Now it seems that it won't emit.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I'm still having troubles. Confirmed that transmission isn't taking place. Use both a learned remote codes file that I created in .96 and one I created in .97 just in case. I know the codes in the .96 version worked, as I used that for several months. Since the upgrade to .97, I can't get it to change the channel reliably (though seemingly, unreproducably and unreliably, it has changed channel with either + or up-arrow in live-tv mode, though it takes a LOOOONG time.

Other than a re-install, anyone have suggestions?

Since a few people have mentioned it, I have got it on my list of things to look at. Hopefully tomorrow?

Do you get any errors in your logs?

Thanks, Sub. No, there isn't anything in the logs that stuck out to me. I"m not in front of them right now, but it just seems not to work at all, though I can train it, so I know its working that way, at least.
