I was having an occasional problem playing recordings from VA 3.0, so I uninstalled both VA and GB-PVR 97.7 and reinstalled them. Now I do not see any recordings in the VA Recordings list, though they show up properly in the GB-PVR Video Library. But in VA Recordings, all I see is a blank page and the moving hour glass, which I have let run for 15 minutes with no success. This must be a simple configuration error, but I don't see it.

Can you zip up and post the log files from your Jeff subdirectoru along with your config.xml file? I can take a look.

I see a couple of potential things. First, the video archive plug-in will not work well (if at all) if your recordings directory is your root directory, in your case C:. It will seach every directory on your entire disk trying to find videos and that will take a LONG time. Can you change your recordings directory to be something like c:\My Recordings . To ensure you don't loose data, you can make a copy of the recording-dump.xml file, do a global search and replace of C:\ to C:\My Recordings, physically move the files, and then import the modified recording-dump.xml file to repopulate the GBPVR database.

Second, you should configure the video archvie plug-in to know about your video directories (G:\ and F:\GB-PVR). You have these specified on the Directories tab of the config app, but these only apply to the built-in video's plug-in. To have the video archive plug-in see these you need to configue the plug-in via the plug-ins tab and set these directories as either Video directories if they have recordings or DVD directories if they are other video files. Again, unless your entire G drive is devoted to videos it would be better to place these under a subdirectory off of the root, like G:\Videos.

Let me know how this works.

Jeff,
Simply setting the directory paths did not do it, but what you suggested is exactly how I had them earlier with VA 2.2, which worked fine. To make a long story short, I had to uninstall both GB-PVR and .NET 2.0 to get everything working again.

That is apparently due to the fact that since my first install of GB-PVR 97.7, I had uninstalled .NET 1.1, since it was no longer used by any of my programs. That at first seemed OK, since GB-PVR 97.7 still worked. However, I received a delayed Microsoft error report as I was mucking around, which seemed to be from the time of my second install of GB-PVR 97.7. I figured the error message indicated something was not quite right with the GB-PVR installation, especially since VA 3.0 was no longer working. I first tried reinstalling .NET 2.0, but that did not fix it. I had to uninstall, and then reinstall .NET 2.0, GB-PVR and VA to fix everything up right. I think the moral is that GB-PVR is sensitive not only to .NET 2.0, but also to an uninstall of .NET 1.1, which information might be useful to someone.

Thanks again for your help.
