Hauppauge 150 MCE with OEM MCE remote

Hi,

I have a 150 mce card and have bought a MCE remote separately.
I currently have Hip installed and this works fine. my question is in the config it shows support for the MCE remote, there also seems to be support for the MCE ir blaster how do I get them to work without using HIP?

The thread was around the Hauppauge 150 card with a hauppage IR blaster and remote.

I actuall have the Hauppage 150MCE OEM this is MCE compliant but does not come with the MCE IR blaster or MCE remote. I have purchased the MCE IR blaster and the MCE remote separetely. I have the MCE remote working with HIP but it looks like this combination should be supported natively within GBPVR.

I am guessing that as I bought the MCE IR blaster & remote separately and they did not come with an install disk I am missing the correct drivers for GBPVR to recognise them, if so where can I download the correct drivers?

As far I know you cant get a disk with the correct drivers. You need to copy the files from Windows XP Pro or WinMCE with SP2. Both have the drivers needed to natively support the remote.

The files you need to copy are "irbus.inf" and "irbus.sys". Copy them to someplace you can remember on your PC and update the driver for the MCE remote. You will need to locate the files when asked for them.

Once you have the drivers loaded you need to select the MCE remote from in the GBPVR config app.

I don't use the blaster feature of MCE remote so perhaps somone else can offer the setup instructions for that.

@A Brass, Thanks. That info did it.

Strange thing is that the SP2 files were not found by windows by itself even tho they were there, hence why I ended up using HIP.

Now I just need to work out the best way to setup my sky STB and antenna channels to provide the most flexible options, but thats my problem :-)

AS a service for others that are searching for answers, I never found a way to use the MCE IR blaster although it appears that gbpvr natively supports the MCE 2005 IR blaster but there doesnt seem to be a way to teach gbpvr the remote codes and the ones for the sat receiver only have the codes for "0" and "1" which was a bit limiting.

I went back to HIP and although not the perfect solution it has met the prime objective; recording a specific channel unattended.
