This is getting annoying Sad

It doesn't matter which Version of MVP software I use, I can't get back to the menus after watch a movie. I'm just getting a blank screen.

There's a sticker on the back that says 8609 rev H1. Does that mean anything to anyone?

Thanks in advance!

Could it be that it is not compatible with the old dongle that gbpvr installs. I think I read something about that. You could try to place the dongle from the Hauppauge-sw in dongle-dir in gbpvr-dir.
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

I solved my wireless issue (I'll post a seperate thread to document it). But not the blacking out after viewing video.

Watching the switch, the MPV looks like it's not "asking" for the interface again after a movie.

This isn't a dongle issue, I've lost count of the dongles I've tried and it's not a GBPVR issue, the same thing happens with hauppage's software. I went so far as to completely uninstall everything & test seperate versions of MVP software full uninstall / re-install.

I'm beginning to believe this is an issue with the H1 revision, the firmware on screen reports as 2.04.

Regardless I plan to run a sniffer this week-end. I'll post the results if anyone would like to look.

Cheers!

Okay I ran the sniffer, (sorry I can't post it I forgot to bring the files).

The interesting thing is that the MVP is getting the menus, it's just not displaying them.

I can navigate them blindly and get other movies to play, it's just not terribly useful since I can't see what I'm doing.

I suspect this is a problem with this MVP itself & I'm trying to get hauppage's take on it.

The wireless is working quite well, I only have issues if somebody tries to back up the internet while I'm watching a recording.

Cheers!

I have posted this in several threads and as far as I can tell, there is little I can do to troubleshoot. I think this is happening because the MVP is connecting to two instances of GBPVR.exe. One for the control/menu function and one for the media streaming. When a video finishes playing, the instance of GBPVR.exe that was streaming the video gets the notification, but the control/menu channel on the instance for the MVP doesn't get notified and therefore doesn't display the menu. My current workaround is only autostarting 1 MVP server and only having one MVP plugged in at any time.

I'm only running 1 instance of the MVP server. In my case this also happens with GBPVR uninstalled and only running the MVP software as well.

Tipster: I'll try that when I get home.

Thanks!

I'm a programmer, I've got a few systems kicking around Smile

I did try it off a Techra S1 Laptop and from another XP box at the house with no luck. Sorry I should have mentioned that.

Hauppauge wants me to try using 3.2.24110b, I thought I did, but I'll try it again tonight & see. It's easy enough to make sure & not go from memory.

I'm stuck at the office for some overtime, so I might not get to play with the pvr tonight...

Cheers!
