I am now trying to get this working for me again and seem to be missing something.

Setup,
modem in family computer. YAC server installed on it.
Yac listener installed on PVR computer.
I get all the test messages on the normal YAC popup on the PVR computer so it is getting the signal from the server.
I installed the new caller id plugin.
I added Caller id to the video plugin (it is plugin #4)
<VideoPlugin4>Caller Id</VideoPlugin4>
I made sure it is checked in config
The skin is in the blue skin folder and I have switched to the blue skin
In the gbpvr.exe log it says caller id task created socket=10629 so I think it should work,

BUT.... nothing pops up on gbpvr on my monitor when I test it. Only in the corner from the yac box. Any ideas? My real goal is to get it onto the MVP. Any tricks for that? Tipster, I know you are doing it, (at least I think you are)

I do not see any error messages in any logs. Is there anything I should look for?

I told it to tell the GBPVR computer, is that the same as telling it to tell GBPVR?

I have the IP address set and the YAC message screen shows up on the screen of the GBPVR computer, it just does not show up on a GBPVR screen. The computer sees it, it just does not seem to get it into the GBPVR program to display it there. Should it show up on any GBPVR logs when a call or test message comes in?

I set it all up on the family computer that I am using as the YAC server. I also use that computer as my test GBPVR computer so I have 97.7 already installed. Anyway, I can get it to work using the blue skin. I still can't see anything on the listener system except for the YAC pop up. Here are my logs. I did not see anything but hopefully you do. I sent a message during this log time. Thanks for all your help. Im sure it is just something dumb I am doing.
5/24/2006 1:15:53 AM.255 ERROR [2] Inner exception: System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\callerid\CallerLog.txt" because it is being used by another process.
A long shot, but you don't have google desktop installed do you? I have seen the exact same error message (albeit with different, unrelated files) when google has been crawling the desktop...

Just a thought.

Does that make sense? and answer the question?

That makes a lot of sense to me. I did not realize that the plugin was also a listener. I thought it was getting a handoff from the listener. I will try it tonight when I get home. Thanks for all the help.

This may or may not be pertinent to this thread, but I'll share it anyway. if you have the YAC Server on one machine and a YAC Listener on another machine, the YAC listener will NOT display the incoming data (caller ID or text message) from the server if the listener systray icon is not set to 'Always Show'.

It took me an hour to figure that out...
