I just had a recording go screwy in a specific scenario (see attached logs for 'Big Brother', 21:00-22:00, 31/05/2006):

I had a 1hour program scheduled that started recording. About 15mins in I decided to watch it from the start via LiveTV (whilst still recording).

~15mins into the program timeline I paused for a while to do something. When I came back the program was still recording and I resumed watching.

The problem happened when the scheduled end time was reached. At that point I was at ~30mins on the timeline. I could continue watching, however my timeline duration display changed to ~2mins, even though it was still showing at 30mins. Skipping now was completely broken (skipping in large chunks all over the place), soI exited to the Recordings screen to try to resume the show manually.

Resuming just failed (no error message, just no playback). When I played the file from the start, it again only showed the 2min duration and skipping was still broken - however the whole file was there, I just had to let it play through undisturbed.

I havnt looked at your logs, but I'm assuming from the description of the problem that you've got a PVR150, and this is the fairly common timestamp problem. The issue has been discussed here in a few different threads in the past.

An fix from Hauppauge can be found here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=14006

Thanks Sub, yep PVR150, I'll give those a shot when I can.

However I've never had this problem before at all, and it happened specifically when the show stopped recording. And the file plays & seeks fine in Zoombrowser... ?

A question for Sub, I believe. I've been running GBPVR since January 2006 on a Dell Evo300, 1.7GHz, with XP Pro and the PVR150MCE with V96.12. The Timestamp problem only appeared after I enabled Comskip for the first time, so I disabled it after a couple of weeks. Being an intermittent fault it didn't reappear till a couple of weeks later and that's when I discovered it's symptoms in the Forums. Could there be any connection with Comskip?

Secondly, the latest drivers from Hauppage is the 2043_24103 version, they've moved on a bit from your link above. Has anyone found this version promlematical or shall I be the first to try it?

Thirdly, I am not using Wintv2k, Just GBPVR with the NVidia decoders, so do I need the Middleware package or is the Base driver sufficient? My ideal is to keep the machine free of "clutter"

I'm just building another machine to take over for the HTPC with an Abit mobo with 2.4GHz, PVR2 USB2 and that's running V97.7 which I just installed over 96.12 and there were NO problems at all. Congratulations Sub and many thanks.

Its not comskip's fault, but the extra stress on the machine may help trigger whatever fault causes this in the PVR150 drivers.

I dont think they've moved on much. I'm only aware of one newer driver (2043_24108) which adds Win2K support, and improves DMA support 64 bit systems.
