Hi have been running this gbpvr for a few days now it is awsome...
I am outputing my picture to 68CM Standard TV. When a show is widescreen everything is great but when watching a non widescreen show it only has a box about 70% of the screen size I would like it to fill the TV> if I cycle through aspect ratio's non will stretch it fully is there anyway to do this, Not sure if its the decoder if it is which would be the best for me. I have intervideo latest (not working) and cyberlink, and nero.
Unlike the other threads I am not getting garbage or problems just a smaller screen in the middle of the TV, I am using an FX5700 Graphics Card.

NVidia's forceware drivers allow you to expand or shrink the TV image to fit.

But first what do you see in a GBPVR window-ed view? It it the same? - which might indicate this is someting to do with aspect ratios.

Or is your window's desktop also small? this might support tuning the output per my first comment.

edit: ok I see you comments about widescreen. You can make you own 'custom' aspect ratios and set them in the config.xml file. Someone posted a formula to work them out somewhere I will let you know if I see it. Otherwise trial and error.....

Sorry about the delay. I tried it in window mode and it still only filed 70% of the window so it seems it is an aspect ratio problem. I also tried the nvidia decoder and recieved the same problem. So is there a way of altering the ratio's so I can get a full picture. I have found the ratio's in the xml file but dont know much about how to work them out, that formula would surely help out if anyone has it then I can create a new ratio.

It doesnt sounds like an aspect ratio problem to me, but you could try pressing F7 to cycle through the defined aspect ratio to see if any of them improve things. One of the aspect ratios will try to fill the screen (0,0,1,1) - if you find it doesnt fill the screen ever, then it sounds like your tv out is producing a picture that is too small.

Sub, I've found this doesn't work if it is pre-selected (or if it is the only aspect ratio listed in config.xml) because going into LiveTV or Video Library the auto mode overrides it. It only works if you F7 during playback. I resolved the issue bt setting the GBPVR playback video decoder to 'default'

Jugular - is both the height and width reduced?

I did find and fix this for the next release. It only occurred with the VMR9 renderer option.

Of course I don't have any clue how the aspect ratio function works. But for the time it takes would it be worth an experiment?

(-0.125,-0.125,1.25,1.25)

Would something like this grow the screen beyond the usual physical limit or just clip the image?

Sub please tell me if what I am suggesting is rubbish.

Anything outside of the 0,0,1,1 screen will be clipped by the video card.

I Have tried cycling through all aspect ratio's. I have just moved over from Media portal and I have noticed that one of ratio's in the program is zoom. When I was using this with the Dscaler Decoder it would fill the screen fully. I cant see the setting they used for the zoom feature as it is the code not the XML file.
Sub to answer your question all sides are clipped evenly its just a smaller box in the middle of the screen it just isnt stretching. Its how the provider sends the signal but Im not sure how to stretch it out for when one of those shows are on. They are sending a standard TV show size in a widescreen format so I only get a smaller picture. hope this helps to explain. I attached a picture also

Just sounds like you tv out on your video isnt giving a picture that fills the entire screen. There is nothing GB-PVR can do about this. You need to look for settings on your video card drivers for tweaking this sort of thing.
