Hi all,
I have 2x Avermedia M150's on a 1GB RAM, 2.8GHZ P4, and when I watch live TV I cannot change the channel (the display on the screen changes and displays the name of the show playing on the other channel, but the audio and video remain on the initial channel. When I only had the first tuner configured in the config app I could change the channel fine and all worked great. When I setup the second tuner I selected the same settings as the first one (same xmltv epg file, same channel setup and same tuner selected from list), the only difference is the Capture Source Name, and the Tuner #. I also tried going into the TV Guide selecting a program and clicking Watch, the program switched to Live TV but stayed on the original channel still. In the meantime I have removed the second tuner again and all works fine again. Is there something I am missing?

Thanks in advance.

From your description it sounds like you are doing things right... make sure your log level is set to debug, reproduce the problem, zip up all the log files (the ones ending with .log) from your gbpvr directory and attach them here, and someone might be able to find the problem.
I'm not always right

I dont know whether the M150 drivers support multiple cards or not. I dont remember seeing any other user with two of these.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your logs and I'll see if there is anything obvious.

I found this: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/FAQ/DeviceTypeCheck

but..."The attached DeviceTypeCheck utility (works only on Hauppage cards) "

does GB PVR not support multiple tuners for manufacturers other than Hauppage?

Thanks.

Thanks for the fast reply Sub. I'll send the logs when I get back home, just at work at the moment.

GB-PVR support multiple tuners with any device that has drivers that support this.

The device check utility referenced above is only needed by Hauppauge users because Hauppauge reused the same driver names across all most of their device cards, and because of this its difficult to tell which device number is which type of device in mixed card systems. ie, if you have a PVR150 and PVR250 in the same machine, one is device #1, the other is device #2 - it can be difficult to tell which is which.

Hi again, attached are the log files. I do know that M150 drivers support multiple cards as I can use them both at the same time in other PVR apps such as sageTV. When I tried it last night the GB PVR app actually locked up and I had to kill it but that may well be my PC's stability not the app as I have only recently reinstalled the PC.

Thanks for your help. Regards,

Scott.

Its a bit hard to tell from those logs, where the devices are being used from two processes. Can you possibly try doing two recordings at the same time, then zip and attach the resulting GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log?

Here are the log files again, I tried recording two channels at once, I then tried to watch live tv and was presented with the screen saying that the tuners were being used to record, I could watch one of the channels OK but could not change it, however when I tried to watch the other channel the program just returned to the main menu.

When I add the second tuner is it correct that I just selct it as Tuner # 2?

I would really like to get this going as at the moment I can't record a channel while I watch another which is kind of the whole point. Awesome program though, thanks heaps Sub Smile

Regards,
Scott.
