Well i was unable to register NO CLUE why. after doing it for the 500 thousand time (ok maybe only 50 times) it works!

in anycase i did get my system up and running last night
My Case:
PVR 350
Asus P4VP-MX Mobo
Maxtor 40gb hd (this is just for OS i am going to get a 120gb + soon)
256 ram
p4 2.0
I also went and go this keyboard
[Image: 23-107-114-09.JPG]
Thinking that i would use the pc as a regular pc in addition to an HTPC but being that i like the output of the pvr 350 vs a generic tv card w/ video out doesnt look like this kb will be of any use except configuration.

I also just got a DLink wireless card from a coworker so that will be going in as well.

Like a mentioned i also added a generic old 64mb video card i had lying around w/ tv out whcih i use for configuration.
Video 1 - PVr 350
Video 2 - Crappy TV out
Video 3 - DVD player/gamecube

i have also been thinkin of just setting up VNC server on it for configurations.

the setup was pretty easy

Just had to use the older drivers for the pvr350. The newer ones would not work for some reason.

also i have no gotten my hauppage remote to work. I did not install any additional software for the remote. Any advice?

I also could not get the theater plug in working. I got an error c:\theaters.xml not found. And the weather plugin did not work.

oh yeah 1 more question
what is the default port for the web portion, I am at work and i want to see if i set it up correctly.

ok thats it for now ill be around
thanks for the help.

There is a setting in the config program under the Misc tab, "Use direct access to Hauppage remote...". GB-PVR can receive IR commands directly from remote.

Make sure you setup your Zip code in the settings window when you activate the Plug-in. If you have, what messages if any are you getting? Also make sure you don't have a firewall blocking it from getting information.

Try http://<your ip address>:7647/gbpvr/index.aspx , I think the 7674 is the default unless you changed it. If you have a router you have to forward the that port to your machine so you can access it over the internet. (Make sure you enabled it, and assigned a user name and password in the config program.)

Reven, I'm using the Gyration keyboard. The keyboard is of the smaller variety so a few keys are in funny places.

I'd previously thought the Gyration keyboard and mouse weren't available here in NZ, but I came across it for $149 from BigByte, which seemed a pretty good price.

The mouse is excellent, and can be used in mid air with gestures. This sounds strange but works really well.

The keyboard and mouse use radio and and are good for up to 100 feet. I'm using it about 15 - 20 foot from the TV, which is beyond the range most IR keyboards word reliably.

There are skin files and pictures also required for the plugin to work. They will need to be copied to the directory under the skin you are currently using and under the weather sub-directory.
Should be about 11 PNG files and one skin.xlm
You will not need the source unless you wish to change it.
