I've had much bad luck getting QAM to work with GBPVR while it worked with Media Center. But I guess now that the switch has happened, I'm in luck. After updating HDHR, their latest scan (only 9 frequencies) found a number of QAM. Thinking this was good news, I then used the Center freqs of the QAM manager and found much, much more. So now the 2250 and HDHR work well in GBPVR.
The only problem I have is going to live tv. The first QAM channel I tune to is black with no sound. If I go to any other QAM channel it works. Then I just go back to the original and all is fine.
WinTV 7 also is picking up the QAM as well. Guess the switch was a good thing.

The switch had nothing to do with QAM it was ATSC and most broadcasters were already digital anyway, so something else must have changed in your set up. Unless of course your cable co was waiting for the switch date to allow you to see digital locals in the clear. I can't imagine why though ???

The only thing that's changed since I last tried to get QAM (in the last 10 days) is the digital transition. Cox has always been very quiet on QAM. I've been told by techs that have visited my home to work on my cable card tuners that many cable companies want to keep QAM a secret to the masses. They have no plans at all to offer much more than the OTA channels in QAM. That part hasn't changed.
No new drivers or software has been added other than the update to the HDHR. But, I've used the center frequencies dozens of times with no luck. I'm confused by this too.

Hmm, maybe my guess is right then, by law they have to have the locals in the clear so technically they were in compliance with analog locals only and when the switch happened they had to make the digital ones clear.

RCN is tricky in a similar but more diabolical way - they had only the low quality locals in the clear. Of course that seems silly since I built a hoverman antenna for a few bucks and now get 45 atsc channels. Nearly enough to ditch the cable altogether in conjuction with netflix,

Spoke too soon. Most of the recordings are 0 size. Went thru this before. Guess I'll have to start over again.

The recordings are most likely 0 size for the same reason that there is no audio/video when you first start Live TV. Since there is no way to perform a channel change with a recording, we'll just have to wait until sub can take a look at it unfortunately.
