I have a lot of rm and rmvb file.
I do have real splitter and directshow installed on my machine.
But as long as those files' extension stays as rm or rmvb, when I try to play them in GBPVR, it just do not work. But if I change the extension to mpg, they do works ok.
So is it a known issue? Or is any way to make it works? Since it seems to have a hugh pain for me to change the extension of all my media file to mpg from rmvb.

Thx

It should work in the next release. There was a bug relating to non-mpg/avi file extensions in the last release.

Sub is there any update on this?

I have video's that use other extensions as well, I know they will play fine but they are not listed in the video library.

Is there an option to perhaps just list everything in those folders designated as the video library folders?

The way I see it is if we create a folder for a "Video Library" we would probably put video files in there, and since there will eventually be new formats and extensions to video files, gbpvr should just list whatever files are in those folders.

The extensions that are not listed so far as I can tell are .rm .rmvb .dat

I know .dat is not a true video format extension, but if you copy files off a vcd it has this extension.

Thanks

.rm files should show up, and they do for me if I rename of my existing files. .rmvb and .dat files wont show up.

I think MyVideos plugin lets you specify what extensions to show.

argh. I think the myvideos plugin compatibility broke with .97
I upgraded a few weeks ago, only to realize this.
A lot of my friends download .rmvb (asian shows) and try bringing it to my place on a DVD.
What I have to do is copy it over and ren *.rmvb *.avi (mpg works okay, but renaming to avi works better)
but of course that breaks the "look" and plus I do not want them to be messing around with the internals.
While I'd rather not make any demands, (you got better things to do than listen to me whine) it'd be nice feature to stick in down the road one day.

Hey,

MyVideos 5 (BETA) has been upgraded GB ver 97.9

Go to Revens site, http://www.reven.co.nz and check out the forums - read all of the notes he has there as you need to follow the steps to get these Betas to work correctly.

Then you can specify your file extensions.

Thanks

cool, thanks! Of course now I gotta decide whether or not to wait till it's out of beta. lol.

I shy away from cutting edge as I tend to spend more time on it than with my wife. lol.
