Im not sure what happened but there's what I was tryign to post:

Ok guys...I'm not sure how to fix this - I'm really hoping someone might be able to assist. I have found after trying all 4 Video rendering choices (VMR9 etc.) that VMR9 Custom looks best overall EXCEPT some of the channels end up having a wierd issue on the very top of the display. I guess I would call it a very thin line of snow at the top of the picture, on more channels than not. A few channels look great which confuses me. Maybe its a format thing or something? DVDs and ripped movies look good - and a few stations look good. The rest have to wierd top line of static/snow.

I am using the NVIDIA Pure decoders - and an NVIDIA on-board 6150 video card. Tuner is a Hauppauge PVR-150.

Thanks in advance

^^;

Alright., please tell me your Version of used ForceWare and NVIDIA PureVideo.

This line, you mentioned..., is this something like black and white? Square Pixels, or something like that? This, i think, is independet of your TV-Card. Me too had this. Are you using PAL Resolution?

I will have to check the versions when I get home - but I believe I am runnning the latest of both Forceware drivers and NVidia Pure decoders. The very top of the picture is black and white - it looks like a very thin line of static or snow. It only occurs on some channels. A few channels look great, and DVD/Video playback works great. I am in the US - it is NTSC format.

As I think about it I guess you could say they are square or rectangular blocks that move around.

I know what you mean, the same lines i have sometimes too, but i never find out, why.

I THINK this could be a hardwarelimitation of the card, or the "hidden" Informationline for transmissions like Teletext, but i am not sure.

Btw., if you're using the LATEST Drivers with your Onboard 6150 then i can't believe, that you could have DxVA with this @ MPEG-2, HD-WMV or MPEG-4

Have a look at you CPU Usage while watching DVD @ VMR9 Mode, this would be very interesting for me.

You are correct, ShiningDragon, it is teletext or closed captions information that is sent in that line.

You can't turn it off. It's part of the tv picture. It's there when you watch ordinary tv, too, it's just that normally a tv has some overscan that puts part of the picture outside of the viewabla area (thus also part of the bottom and the sides of the picture), so you won't see it.

That said, your graphics card might have some settings to use overscan.
