Having Trouble Installing External Recorder

I'm pretty new to this whole GB-PVR thing, I'm currently trying to get ExternalRecorder working with a view to having a play with UBUStream.

This is the first plugin I have tried to get working, I have copied the files from the zip file to the appropriate folders, but when I open the GB-PVR config, the external recorder plugin doesn't appear in the Plugins tab (and just in case it's not supposed to, I still only get the same 3 recording source options I got from a clean install).

I installed the weather and calculator plugins (picked pretty much at random) to check if I was copying the files to the wrong places, but they work fine.

The instructions say to copy the contents of the gbpvr folder in the zip file to the installed gbpvr folder.

The list below is the contents of the gbpvr folder in the zip file I downloaded.

I have checked, and all of the files in the \gbpvr folder in the zip file are in c:\program files\gbpvr\, and all of the files in the \gbpvr\plugins folder in the zip file are in c:\program files\gbpvr\plugins

I am using version 1.0 of ExternalRecorder, and version 0.97.9 of GB-PVR.

I have tried this from a clean instll of GB-PVR on more than one pc, so whatever I'm doing wrong, I'm doing it consistantly.

Any help you might be able to offer will be gratefully received.

Ok, my apologies for being a n00b. I found the answer to my problem here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=16787. (Probably should have checked both support forums first I suppose )

Well I assume it's solved anyway. The recording source appears now. Time to play.

Probably obvious, but you can use UbuStream in list mode without having ExternalRecorder installed. You only need to install ExternalRecorder if you want to use UbuStream in channel mode as well. Anyway, best of luck with your ExternalRecorder/UbuStream installation.

Kingchimp, I have the same problem and when I tried to install the other dll as mentioned in forum page you pointed to,
my program throws out an error and doesnt start.

Please detail the solution.

If you would share the error message you are getting (and attach your log files), it would help in diagnosing the source of your problem.
