Hi,
I recently installed the latest version of GBPVR (0.97.9) and after deep consultation with this forum have managed to get it working fairly well and iron out most of the issues I was having.
System is as follows:
Win XP SP2
Intel P4 Mobile 1.7Ghz
ATI X700
1 Gb RAM
WinTV Nova-T USB 2 with 45 button remote
Cyberlink Muxer (cant remember which version but will check when I get home, its the one from one of the other threads here)
Power DVD6 Deluxe which I have selected in all the dropdown boxes in Config (video decoder, audio decoder etc)
I have three slightly weird problems that I have not been able to solve (no apparent relation between them so I will go through 1 by 1)
EPG crashes GBPVR
I am using XMLTV GUI to download EPG data from radio times. This seems to work ok and channels appear in the TV guide as expected, I can select them and it will record them correctly. If I press the tv guide button when watching TV it opens the onscreen display showing the grid at the bottom and I can navigate through the listings. When I click on a program the channel changes to that station (as expected) but occasionaly it freezes the computer and the only way to get out is to do a force quit in task manager or in some cases restart the computer. After this, I have to unplug the TV card and reinstall the drivers to get it to work again. It only happens occasionally and only when using the on screen EPG whilst watching TV (i.e it doesnt seem to do it when I select a channel from the main menu). I will try to recreate it this evening and attach logs if that will help.
PowerDVD launches by itself
Sometime when I am flicking channels, the PowerDVD splash screen (the one with the woman in shades that shows when no DVD is loaded) flashes up on screen for a split second in between changing channels. This doesnt bother me particulary but occasionally the PowerDVD application itself launches and completely fills the screen but GBPVR is still running in the background. So I have to close it manually on the computer and GBPVR is visible again (more annoying especially if it involves having to get out of bed to do it ) Again, it seems to happen at random and infrequently but I will try to recreate and post logs.
Audio delay when resuming recording from pause mode
When I watch a recording from the beginning it plays fine. If I pause it and then resume the video continues to play but there is no sound. After about 10 seconds the picture will jerk slightly and the sound will kick in again. This happens every time I pause and then unpause. Doesnt seem to be a problem with the recording because if I watch it all the way through without stopping it's fine. I get a similar problem when wathcing TV in timeshift mode.
Again sorry if I have not described the bugs very well, they are really strange and I have no clue what could be causing them. I will try to and provide more info when I get home, but in the meantime any help would be hugely appreciated - its great software and so close to making it work perfectly.
Cheers
PS Is there any extra information that I should specifically include to help diagnose the problem.
