There was a bug pointed out a couple of days ago that would stop recordings from taking place if live tv was left running. I'm pretty sure that is what has happened in your situation - at least thats what it looks like in the logs.

files, 3 second, 3 minutes or 20 minute long files (the size does appear to be arbitrary). When a recording fails, the app either has shown the following:
  • thinks it is still recording way past the stop time (not fixed until recording process restarted)
  • no indication at all that the program has failed except the recording is shorter than expected
  • Recording Service is gobbling most of the CPU (not normal operation)

The generated logs look good.

I havn't looked too hard into this YET because I'm not too fussed with what I am missing at the moment.

I'm sort of hedging my bets on how busy the CPU is at the time of the recording being a contributer. Maybe its more susceptable to sharing the CPU in this version.

I am sure the last behaviour wrt gobbling CPU is related to the Recording Service getting itself in a tissy (tight spin-dead lock) which is usually bought about on my system by doing other activities while the system is recording. This is not new behaviour though, this one has been present a while.

Sorry, i know this is all of little help, I hope to be able to sit down and qualify the problems I *think* I am having next week:o

It only tries once, which is the way I'd want it to behave. If its still not starting, something more serious is going wrong.

Maybe in a later release. I'm a bit snowed under at the moment.
