Priority Recordings in the GBPVR Base System

Following on from this thread http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=5, and only having one tuner (with more unlikely anytime soon) I would like to see Priority Recordings (currently a plugin) incorporated into the GBPVR base system.

I do hope to allow the user to edit the priority on season recordings sometime soon, but it probably wont be in v0.98 - I've got a pretty full plate already. This will probably be something like a 1 to 5 star rating which you can set when scheduling a season recording, or edited in the Recordings screen.

Sub, an easier thing for you probably to do is just allow people to re-arrange the order that the season recordings occur. I believe your scheduling system currently does first in-first out. So, if you allow the order to be re-arranged when a season recording occurs, this will effectively change the first-in-first-out scheduling so that the highest priority recording get's scheduled first.

If you need a start on the code, by all means, take what you want from the CDK Scheduler code. It's available on source forge.

Thought about this again the other day and am still very keen on it.

I had another thought too, not sure if this is an EWA item or not (please say so and I will post there), but it would be great when scheduling, which I do almost exclusively through the webadmin, to choose priority from a list "Highest => Lowest" or "***** => *" when selecting the recordings, and also to be able to change this even after they are scheduled :-)

Just a bump, on the list. Especially since 1.00 is close, and this basic/standard feature isn't in the base code, where all other systems include it. Again, not everybody has the luxury for multiple recorders, and even with two records, a heavy scheduling system can cause conflicts to occur.

I've read this thread many times and I just realized I've never posted to it.....so, this is me saying, I want this standard feature too. I like the idea of rearranging the reoccurring recordings better than the star system. Just my $.02

Are you aware I already did add priority control on the 'reoccurring' list of the Recordings screen a couple of releases ago? Those at the top of the list have the highest priorty. You can adjust the priority of a reoccurring recording by press FF or RW to move it up or down the priority ladder.
