I have tried ^x znd ^z (^ = control) and + and - nether works! where am I going wrong can someone explain what commands I need to tell HIP to send to GBPVR

Thanks

I tried it with HIP and it does nothing to GBPVR so I tried it with the keyboard to be 100% sure, and it crashes GBPVR!

If I use the left arrow (from the four direction arrows keypad) it freezes the picture and never returns so you have to close GBPVR while the right arrow just crashes GBPVR outright closes the window and BAM ... Gone.

What I am curious about is that I already have both the left and right arrows mapped to the left and right arrow keys on the remote, these work to allow me to go from the left column of commands to the right information pane in most of the GBPVR applications and also for advancing along the timeline in the TV-Guide app, so why would they be reused as volume control?

Ok I have been playing some more and after twiddling around with the config and the Volume plugin I cannot now get the crash issue I had earlier to reappear.

What I have found so far, results are in the following format:

Plugin (Volume up, Volume Down , Mute)
Live TV (Right arrow, Left arrow, Not supported)
My Music (F10, F9, F8)
video Library (Right arrow, Left arrow, Not supported)
DVD (Right arrow, Left arrow, Not supported)
FM Radio (Not supported, Not supported, Not supported)
Net Radio (Not supported, Not supported, Not supported)
My Music (F10, F9, F8)
My Video (Right arrow, Left arrow, Not supported)

The use of the Function keys is because these apps are using WMP and these are the standard keys for WMP10

In HIP I have set the primary command for volume up to the right arrow and the secondary command as F10 this means that when I press the Vol+ key on my remote the first time a video plugin will respond and on a second press a WMP plugin will respond - not ideal but at least it works.

I would suggest that some more thought into the remote commands needs to be put in, a common set of control commands would be awesome as I dont believe the plugin that is being currently run can be made visible to HIP in order for HIP to make a decision on what code should be sent.

Just had a scan on the web site at the features of nircmd and it looks really good.

I presume I need to add nircmd as a nother program within my default profile in the hip config and then teach it the vol+ vol- and mute keys for the remote.

Am I correct in assuming that each remote key can only be mapped to one application within you profile in Hip (I suspect this is a dumb question Big Grin )

If you want to use NirCMD you just need to add the vol+ and vol- keys to your GBPVR configuration in HIP. when you're adding the button and you're in the 'Edit value' window of HIP, instead of pressing the keyboard button at the end of the 'primary command' field, press the 'Execute program' button thats slighty further down the window. add NirCMD there, and add the relevant paramters to control the volume up and down.

Having said all that, im fairly sure you can control the system volume directly from HIP by selecting 'Volume Up'/'Volume Down' from the list of SystemKeys/PredefinedKeys in the same window. Im fairly sure ive used that method in the past.
