V0.15 is now available for download from http://www.gbpvr.com/Setup015c.exe

From the release notes:

2003-3-30 v0.15
- Added support for dynamic loading of plugins.
- Added simple weather plugin, including source code, as an example for how to write plugins.
- RGB and Component Video option now correctly working on XCard.
- Fixed a problem with -TVGuide -Recordings -LiveTV command line parameters introduced in the last release.
- Fixed a problem with Season recordings. Previously certain characters in the program name could stop the recordings being scheduled.
- Fixed a problem with back-to-back recordings which could cause subsequent recording to not take place.
- Added support for using FFDShow for post-processing. To use this, you must download and install a *recent* version of the FFDSHOW filters (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_...fdshow.cfm). FFDSHOW should work with any MPEG2 decoder, as long as the decoder doesnt use DXVA.
- Corrected a problem with handling of dates. If no timezone abbreviation was explicity stated, I was assuming GMT then subtracting the offset (-0500). After reviewing the XMLTV dtd, I found that this was actually supposed to default to UTC (not GMT).

I was a little rushed to get this release out, but a few people of have given it a test yesterday and it seems to be functioning fine.

One thing I have noticed, you'll want to make sure FFDSHOW is not enabled if you dont have it installed. It currently doesnt handle this situation very gracefully. I'll tidy this up for the next release.

To change the weather screen to your local area, go to the Plugins page in the Config app. Click on the "weather" plugin and the settings button will become enabled. Click settings and you'll be able to enter your area code information.

The weather plugin is fairly simple, and the release includes its source code in C# and VB.NET. This should hopefully provide a basis for others that want to start developing their own plugins.

Hi Sub

I am from Denmark and i did not have the time zone problem with v 0.14 . I have been removing the +01:00 from the XMLfile since v 0.13 and then it works fine. But now with v 0.15 GBpvr adds 2 hours to all the programs in the EPG.
Can i manualy change a parameter in a config file to get GBpvr substract og add a number of hours, i think then everyone could get i working ?

This may help. Ffdshow is a filter used with your DVD, Mpeg2, Mpeg1 and most Mpeg4 codec’s. Ffdshow allows you to make changes to the video stream real-time digitally, like sharpening and denoising. It’s sort of like digitally enhancing the video, to perfectly match your system, while playing it back, real time. A lot of people use it with their DVD software in search of the perfect picture. I'm currently using the 20040325 version and it does improve the picture quality.

Thanks gplasky for the explanation, so perhaps its a solution for me.
I'm not on the search for the perfect picture but on the search for the perfect size of the mpg file because of allways to less amount of hd space......
With the PVR250 software decoder it's only possible to record mpeg2. Is it possible to use the fddshow tool to convert to mpeg1 vcd quality on the fly?

No-it is just a post-processor for the mpeg2 video stream that will let you improve the quality of the picture. It can also be used as a Divx3/Xvid codec and will play video recorded in that format. If you're using a PVR250/350 the encoding is done in mpeg2 from the card. You'll always be creating an mpeg2 file and will need the drive space for that. You could always convert afterwards and delete the mpeg2 file but I think you will lose the ability to play it thru GB-PVR. (I may be wrong on this and maybe as long as you have the proper codec installed on your PC you can play it thru GBPVR. You can choose what codec to use in configuration but I believe only certain ones are currently supported.)

Sub,

While v015 is recording a program on my htpc, just a few comments on this version from the laptop.

The yellow button works now to queue a music file for playing. However, changing the volume from the main menu doesn't. (I'm not using ir.exe)

Pre- and postshow padding is at 5 min. Recording starts at only 1-2 minutes before the show begins. I think I've noticed it does continue for 5 minutes after the show.

I programmed a manual recording to start at 20:00 hours. It starts at 20:00:55 when I've hit the record button at say 19:10:55.

Skip fwd and bwd when playing music starts the next/previous song. BUT the originally playing song continues as well. This gives a nice sound  [Image: tounge.gif]

Deleting a recording doesn't delete the file (as noticed earlier by others).

Your channelicons override mine!

For the rest I'm still a BIG FAN! Absolutely no more wintv2k for me.... [Image: cool.gif]
