Sometimes I need to record 2 shows that are overlapping for 5 mins or so. This creates a conflict and has to be solved. The result is always that one or the other show can't be recorded.
I would like to see an option which detects the overlap, and offers a choice which recording to end earlier, or start later.

Example:
Show1 : 17:00-17:50
Show2 : 17:45-18:30

These are overlapping between 17:45 and 17:50.
Option1: record Show1 partial, stop at 17:45 and record show2 (complete)
Option2: record Show1 complete, stop at 17:50 and continue with show2 (partial)

It would be nice to see this addition in the conflict manager.

Update for Sub:

Currently, when shows are conflicting, you would have the option to cancel one of both shows. For above wish, there would be 2 more options: "Record show1, start show2 as show1 ends", and "record show1 until show2 starts, then record show2"

This would be cool - although I'm not sure how it would tie in with reoccurring recordings...

Edit: Just noticed this is my 200th post -woo!

I don't know if this helps, but sometimes there are networks that show a program later at night (CN, A&E, TNT, FX, etc). In cases like that, you say you want to record between say 8pm and 5am (to catch first and re-broadcast). I think this way if the first is in conflict, it gets the 2nd.

At least, I think this is how xrecord/cdk work....if not, that would be a handy helper, too.
