Anyone tried 97.13 with the normal dongle and rev H3?

You shouldnt be able to use either dongle.bin or gbmvp.bin with the new H3 model. The hardware has been changed since these were originally created. Specifically they are not capable of reading the stored configuration in the flash memory since this has moved in the newer models.

You'll need to use a newer Hauppauge dongle.

Got it to work with a H3 revision MediaMVP now with the dongle.bin extracted from Hauppauge MediaMVPSetup_3.2.24125b, downloaded from this link. This after much trying, rebooting and re-installing and bad words that I shall not repeat here.

Now all I need to figure out is how to play the video files from a network drive on the MediaMVP, it seems that it does not like a network drive mapping to fetch files from.

Lot of requests for access to dongles, but need a bit more feedback please.... These folks have made requests, but so far only 1 or 2 have got back. If you're up and running, I'm sure lots of folks would be pleased to hear how you got on....thank you ... this thread is primarily focused on the H2/H3 MVP that had problems btw... but some feedback on other dongles/MVP revisions also added.

23. vdb. OK. Rev. H3, 32_24110b. First used 3.2.24125b, but "downgraded" to 3.2.24110b because in the 24125b version Hauppauge have introduced some sort of locked OSD image when you are viewing files from the video library. This overlay image is not present in the 110 version and it is working fine for me now.
24. newyankee. 2xRev H3. dongle_30_24088.bin. I have two MVP H3 units here (wired, model #86020, Lot 2106). None of them will load any dongle below 30_24088. I tried both the Hauppauge MVP service and GBPVR numerous times. The problem with all loadable dongles (those above 3.x) is that using the original Media MVP soft they crash on Back/exit and they don't set the 16:9 signal within the configuration so the TV doesn't autodetect widescreen anymore. That worked fine with 25_23242 on my previous D3As. 30_24088 works reasonably well though with GBPVR except the 16:9 issue.

26. 4zm4r3d02. D3A. 32_24125b cleared-up the loss of audio-video sync with ffw & skip. However, the Hauppauge OSD stayed on-screen too long, especially at the beginning of playback, and it was blocking text at the bottom of the video.. See note below.
27. mof. Rev H3. Tried Dongle_25_24023b.BIN so far. This has brought my H3 mpv to life (albeit with the yellow bar I've read others complain about (this disappears after a few seconds so is not a problem).
28. mkuyper. Rev H3. I got it up and running and was pretty happy with it but this morning I was starting it up and it's stuck on the "Preferred Server" screen. I keep pushing OK, but it won't go off of this screen.

31. Murdock. Rev. FF will not stop and constant drops. So I have reverted back to using 2 systems 96 For MVP with GBPVR_Dongle and 97 for doing all the recordings. Its the only stable enviroment I can come up with. Yes reinstalled everything but windows. I have 2 MVPs E1 And DA3 Both Do the same thing with anything newer than The 96.12. My network is a 3Com NIC 3c905b's and a 3com 3300 Switch using ortronice patch cables. Only thing that crashes the MVPs is fast button pushing on the remote.
32. bertros. Rev H2. Apparently I have an H2 revision MVP. It would not boot at all with the default dongle.bin. Likewise would not boot with 25_24023b.bin (just hangs on "loading application"). Then, sucess with 30_24088.bin! Everything works great. One tiny problem is that the GBPVR screen on my television is slightly out of the frame, so that the description of each show's episode on the TV guide screen is below the frame of the Tele and can't be read. I have no idea if this has anything to do with a dongle file or not.
33. kennyd. Rev H3, Model 86020 lot 2106. It works perfectly with the 25_24023b.bin. I have no yellow bar as i did with the most recent beta release. Its amazing that the older .bin work and the newer ones don't. The beta one works okay, but has an annoying "Hauppauge status bar." gbpvr.bin also works, but tops and tails the screen.
34. JakobO, GBPVR V0.97.09, MVP 1: Model 86020 Rev H3 Lot 2106, MVP 2: Model 86002 Rev D3A Lot 4503. Just received Dongle_32_24110.BIN and its working with both my mvp's (H3 and D3A) - ie both connected to servers and showing gbpvr gui.

39. kmurphy. MVP Rev H2 Lot 1506. I had a problem with vertical sync on the TV. The GBPVR menu was in black and white and skipping. Dongle 24110 fixed the problem.

41. rscheller. MediaMPV Model 1016 ver H3 lot 0106 using wireless. 32_24110.bin - works for everything... so far. No Hauppauge splash screen or yellow bars. One thing with 32_24110 is the remote buttons seem to lag more from press to action than version 32_24125b but I'll take slow buttons and stable rather than fast buttons and crashing. FYI, tried gbmvp.bin (aka gbmvp_GBPVR_Beta_Dongle.bin) and it causes continuous vertical scrolling after MVP boot. 30-24088 - causes vertical scrolling after contacting servers and then loops on contacting servers. 32_24125b - works for everything... sort of... but has Hauppauge splash screen and yellow bars and will fail to contact servers during watching live TV intermittantly and almost every time using back/exit button. 25_24023b - won't assign an IP address... seems to not be a late enough version to work with wireless.

46. Kristan. MVP Model: 86020 H3 Lot 2106. Success with dongle 25_24023b.bin. I think some of my problems were DHCP related, it would do loading application, then reboot and say it couldn't get an IP Address (which it had to have been able to to load in the first place). I added in a static reservation for it though and now it seems to work. It's not 100% perfect, ff/skip seems to work only on certain files but it's working which it the main thing.
47.phonicfrog. 2 D3A MVP's off GB-PVR v0.97.13 server with 2 nova-t's using Cyberlink MpgMux 5.0.0.813. I tried the default dongle, gbmvp.bin, Dongle_30_24088.BIN, Dongle_32_24110.BIN, Dongle_25_24023b.BIN, Dongle_32_24125b.BIN and Dongle_25_23209.BIN. Dongle_25_23209.BIN was by far the fastest dongle to load, to connect, to navigate, to skip about within recordings, to change channels, no crashes or restarts yet. No loss of sync in recordings yet.

49. jbyram2. 25_24023b.bin seems to work well with my D3A MVP. Still having boot trouble though. I think it is my server, since Hauppauge software loads dongles but gbpvr does not.
50. JonRoyle. I can't say that any combination of dongle's is totally stable. Best so far with UK (Scart) H3 MVP is Dongle 32_24110b. GB-PVR 97.13 with Native Utilities patch running on Win2003 .
51. don_care100. My MVP (E1 lot 4703) does not connect to any server with the 25_24023b dongle.
52. techjinx. Dongle 25_24023.bin works and the MVP now loads GBPVR fine. 1) Still resets when trying to play some AVI files that it turns out are corrupted but why does this cause the MVP to fit & re-set? 2) Menus seem to update slowly when scrolling with the remote.

A. I believe the current dongle.bin for 97.xx is 24_23096 (based on file size).

B. Many non-H3 users are having success with:
30_24088.bin (Mine's a D3A MVP)
32_24110b.bin D3A

C1. H2 users appear to be having success with:
30_24088.bin, but strangely, NOT 25_24023b.bin

C2. H3 users appear to be having success with:
25_24023b.bin (H3 users) - Albeit with a yellow bar several have mentioned (this disappears after a few seconds so is not a problem).
Occasionally 32_24110b.bin

D. NOTE: 32_24125b.bin has the hardcoded Hauppauge OSD, which is a big negative.

so far Dongle_25_24023b.BIN is working a lot better for me the only issue I have some times is the comskip will not skip on certain shows even tho it shows it did run for the show.

Wow a lot of you gone with beta bin. I really haven't notice much reboots, everything plays fine. I did find beta bin on HAU though.

Maybe you dont have rev H3??

Many thanks to jksmurf for 24023b.bin - initially didn't work on live tv but then I found out I was using the DVR-MS mux (I'm new to this !) - downloaded and installed the cyberlink mux and everything seems to work well. Early days and I haven't unleashed it on the family yet, but looking good.
