I'm up and running and LOVE GBPVR. However, I'm having a problem that I cannot, again (as usual), tackle.

I made a recording which is about 5.9 Gig. I would like to burn it and make either a VCD or convert it to make a DVD (I'll compress it more to lower the file size). It plays just fine on my computer using either GBPVR or Windows media player. But, no other program will let me burn or use it. I get the error message of something like "Cannot be Opened or Supported".

I'm thinking it has to do with the MPG format. Sooooo....I guess I need to know what Codec was used to record or what format the file is in?.....is it MPG2, MPG4? Heck, I'm not sure where to start. ANy help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Peetem

I'd also like to know the answer to this. I used nanoPEG to edit my file now I'd like to transcode it to using divx/mp3 (such as virtualdub) but I cannot seem to get any kind of transcoder to open the file. I get "No video frams found in MPEG file".

google is your friend. I found a link to a mod'ed VirtualDub that with MPEG2(SVCD,DVD,VOB) support.

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Virt...-MPEG2.htm

It was able to open the MPG file created by GB-PVR and now I'm trying to re-encode it using DivX and Lame MP3. So far its looking like I can take a 30min show and compress it down to about 100mb, or at least that was the "Project file size" VirtualDub is telling me. Too bad it looks like it takes twice the time length of the file to re-encode. We shall see.
