Ok, I think you're out of luck. Sorry, it seems this device just doesnt work with GB-PVR.

Hi,

I have had success with the unit however not with GB-PVR I have just downloaded a trial of PowerCinema and the device works without issue with this...

Although I'd rather use GB-PVR!

Went to the Freecom site to download these blessed BDA drivers.

The info there says that if you download them, you will be able to use Arcsoft Total Media and other programmes.

However, the USB stick I bought last week came with Arc Soft total media - in fact that's all it came with as a video capture programme. I didn't get the other video capture programme which has the interface shown in the pdf which comes with the BDA driver download - looks like a DVD display panel with "Freecom" pasted across it.

Incidentally, I never had to input a serial number either.

Stick is dated May 2006.

Mega confused. Do I uninstall the old drivers or not?

Do I already have the new drivers? How can I be using Arcsoft Total Media if I don't?

From what I know you have the latest drivers and software. It seems to have been included with stick of a manufacture date of May 2006 onwards. I have a March 2006 model and I had the freecom software.

The new BDA drivers don't seem to want to install under win2k. Anyone got them working?

Got one of these Freecom jobbies from Tesco. May 06 revision 622. Downloaded the latest BDA drivers and they were a dream come true however The weren`t to work with decent software. Pity. Been on and off different sites looking for BDA drivers for this thing but none worked so I can only assume a Firmware update was done.

Jon, how did you get the device working in PowerCinema? I installed it and keep getting the message that it can't find any TV Tuner devices.

I've managed to get the device working in MediaPortal, but nothing else so far, tonight I will try DVB Viewer.

Did nothing special just installed it and scanned for channels.... ProgDVB also works if you're stuck.

Hi Folks,

I've been reading this thread to try to get my may 2006 freecom stick going with gbpvr. Attached is the bda.ini file I used (changed the extension to .ini from .txt and replace the file in C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr) I used the drivers from the CD and installed gbpvr.

Sorry if it screws yours up.

Next I'm going to be trying to get it to run a bit quicker as the performance is stilll reminiscant of arcsoft totalmedia (total sh*te).

If anyone can advise me on how to improve the performance it will be greatly appreciated!

Smile
