Unfortunately my old machine basically kind died (had to use a file recovery program to get some files of the o/s disk I had). I did recover the GB-PVR directory from it under "program files". I was just wondering if the info may have been noted somewhere here. The other option may have been to recover a windows file from that disk that had this info in it, however I wouldn't know where to look for this.

Quote:Thanks sub - logs are attached and here are some notes to assist (dates are today - basically just did the test then):
7.20am - was supposed to stop recording
7.25am - tried 2x to stop the recording through the client i/f without success
7.26am - restarted recording service (removes it from PENDING recordings list)
Notes
- Actually the recording was only 20sec long when I went to play it and looked at it, and on disk was 91MB (i.e. Channel Nine_20060806071000-2.mpg).
Looking at the logs, it looks like it has died inside the twinhan driver while trying to stop the graph. It enters the stop function, but never exits it. I've actually had this same problem with my twinhan DVB-S card, but that was a long long time ago, and the next drivers from Twinhan corrected the issue.

After that, there is no intelligence left in server. Braindead - nothing listening for your request to cancel the recording.

GB-PVR doesnt know which version of the driver you're using, so it wont be contained anywhere in the GB-PVR directory.

You'd be able to look at the version of the driver .sys file, but I couldnt tell you what the filename is.

Thanks - hey I was just starting to check frequency settings - I'll need to do some more digging however for the moment I note that:

- GBPVR is setting channel nine to 191500 (re frequency - see logs below)
- The frequency scan I did with separate s/w showed channel nine at 191625. Refer to http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=3.

Could this be potentially the issue? (I'll try to google the correct freq)

PS. Actually the correct freq does seem to be 191.625 MHz (http://www.dba.org.au/index.asp?sectionI...=Brisbane). I guess I'll install office (with Microsoft Access) on the new PC and try to manually adjust the frequency? Would this be the easiest way sub?

(I getting excited now - I hope this is the issue Smile)

The device should be able to lock onto that frequency fine from the center frequency of 191500. If you want to try it though, you can edit the "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\BDA\DVB-T\0141.ini" file to change the specific frequency, then rescan an remap your channels.

Didn't fix things Sad

I updated the frequency directly with in *.mdb file and verified in the logs it was starting the recording via this approach. Unfortunately this didn't help.

I also changed from the Channel 9 "HD" to the "9 Digital" channel, still on the same frequency (not sure what the difference really is here) and this didn't help.

Oh dear, I think I'm running out of options here  . Any ideas guys? Would changing the tuner card to a different PCI slot do anything/worth a try?

(I have sent an email to Twinhan support to ask if there are additional drivers available - any other good sites or forums I should post on?)

Cheers

mvandere Wrote:Are you using the Twinhan BDA drivers or the other ones (written by the guy on the DVBOwners forum, from memory)?
I've only got access to the current and one old Twinhan driver at the moment. Should I try these other ones you mentioned? Got any links to where to pick these up?

PS. Are these BDA drivers (which seem to stem from Microsoft origin) specific to the vendor tuner cards? Or is it the case that any good BDA driver for PCI cards should work? For example refer to the following link for which there are BDA drivers available - http://www.digitalrise.biz/support/downl...gory&id=27
