What frequency info exactly? For analog device, there usually isnt any frequency settings stored anywhere. Instead GB-PVR does everything using channel numbers, and Microsoft takes care of the frequencies behind the scenes in Directshow.
For example, if you were in England, using an antenna, and wanted to change to channel 14, I pass the following info to Directshow: "channel 14, England, Antenna". That said, you can enter a frequency in the capture source channel list instead of a channel number. For example, if you wanted a channel at 108MHz you would enter 108000000.
If you can write down what it is you are trying to do and the steps you have taken so far, it will be easier to identify where you are with the setup:
These wiki steps below should help you make a start too: 1. http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Config/DefineSource 2. http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Config/ImportTvGuide 3. http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Confi...elMappings Step 3 is not "normally" required if your EPG is setup correctly using channels defined in the xml for the UK, which is chosen in the config when setting up your device. k.

Ok, here's the problem. I'm using a Hauppauge 150 and I'm getting choppy audio on 3 or 4 channels. And this problem is the same no matter what software I'm using. So I wanted to try to play with the channel frequency so I could eliminate that as source of the problem.
Where does directshow store the channel info? I'm starting to think there may be something wrong with my Directx 9.0c installation. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune\TS0-1 does not exist in my registry.

Did you try it with the Hauppauge WinTV software? That does not use Directshow tuning tables, and can tune by frequency etc. This would allow you to test your theory.
Quote:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune\TS0-1 does not exist in my registry. This is normal, and not something to worry about. Quote:Where does directshow store the channel info? Its just part of some data table in a DLL somewhere, but it can be overridden using the registry settings you mentioned above for those that really need to - this is very rarely needed though (the netherlands is a common exception). anyprophet Wrote:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune\TS0-1 does not exist in my registry.Do any keys under TVAutoTune exist? If not you can either add the frequencies manually in config (as per sub above) or manually add a key under Autotune for the UK (TS44, and the 0 or 1 as recommended in the WIKI) provided you choose THAT country (UK) in the config. However you shouldn't need to do this. Are you in the UK and have set GBPVR as United Kingdom in the config?? Because AFAIK TS0 is the US. TS44 is the UK. TS852 is Hong Kong etc. See the pic in this post for more details. k.

I'm in the US.
"TV System Services" doesn't even exist. WinTV2000 gives me the same exact problem. This whole problem is ridiculous. There aren't any causes that make sense given the odd symptoms I'm experiencing. =\

Sorry I dont know then.
anyprophet Wrote:I'm in the US. "TV System Services" doesn't even exist.I'm sorry to hear of your frustration. You don't need the TV System Services key, you should be OK with the US default frequencies so it really looks like a different problem, rather than a frequency issue (althought it wouldn't hurt to rule that out, by just typing in the frequencies manually for testing purposes). For future reference, the analog frequency tables that sub talked about above are detailed here and the exact frequencies for the US here. You don't (should not) need to adjust them with the TVAutotune. A (more permanent) override can however be made using the TVAutoTune reg key IF you need to. It appears (perhaps someone (sub?) else can confirm?) that software programs can be written to use "IAMTuner::put_CountryCode method" to follow the frequencies of the 13 listed countries (incl. Western Europe (WEU)), as it says, in many cases, multiple countries/regions share the same standard for analog TV tuning. Probably doesn't help you much with your choppiness though. That sounds like either a codec or hardware problem. k. [EDIT] btw, MS does not include the Unicable Table claiming it is too long, (368 frequencies long) but attached is one found on the web (hard to find it is too, for some odd reason).

If it were a codec or hardware problem why would only a few channels be affected? As far as I can tell only channels 30, 31 and 60 are affected.
What codec would you guys suggest? And I can change which codec is being used by altering its priority in the Device Manager, right? |
