I starting using GBPVR at Christmas (v0.95.16) and until I upgraded a few weeks ago I probably had a couple of scheduled recording failures. The rate was so low that I didn't notice.

A few weeks ago I upgraded to v0.97.13 and almost immediately had a couple of recording failures, so I removed GBPVR and installed a fresh copy in a new directory. For a while this seemed to have cured the problem but in the last three days I have experienced two failures:

Monday 7th @ 21:01 - I, Claudius
Wednesday 9th @21:01 - I, Claudius

In both instances restarting the recording cured the problem.

On Monday I didn't realise that the recording had failed until 21:15 but tonight I was keeping an eye on the recording directory and after the two failed recording files had been created (6kb each), I restarted the recording service.

On Monday GBPVR successfully recorded "The Sky at Night" which was being broadcast on another channel immediately before "I, Claudius" but tonight nothing was being recorded prior to the failure.

All the logs are attatched.

I would try the patch referred to in post #7 of the sticky 'v0.97.13 survival guide' thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=17730

Thanks for the quick response.

I've applied the patch.

I'll keep an eye on it for the next couple of weeks and keep my fingers crossed.

The patch has not cured the problem. Successfully recorded the baseball on Thursday morning but failed to record I, Claudius last night.

Do you want to see the logs for the latest failure?

Did you end up with a file called either "I, Claudius_20060811_21052200-1.dvr-ms" or "I, Claudius_20060811_21052200.dvr-ms" in your directory? or both?

Yes, I got two 6kb files

The following night it failed to record I, Claudius again and this time restarting the recording service did not help I just kept getting a pair of 6kb files for each restart.

I ended up deleting the recording from the schedule and rebooting GBPVR. It seems to have recorded all the I, Claudius episodes since.

PS Sorry about the delay in replying but I didn't get an email notification and hadn't realised you'd replied
