MCE Remote with IR Blaster, Multiple Instances

Hello,

I have been running GBPVR for about a week. It has so far been performing well. However I noticed my MVP the remote control for it was lagging big time or not working. Using GBPVR on my pc was no problem. Using my PC after my MVP was failing with the remote caused a locking problem with a file associated with the remote (something .bin, don't remember off hand the exact error). So if I get rid of the PC foreground instance of GBPVR and use my MVP it works quite well. I believe there is some sharing / locking going on with the MS USB IR blaster. Has anyone else experienced this or have an idea on how to make both PC and MVP happy?

The best were to replace the MCE Remote itself. Me too has the original MCE Remote V2a and somehow this hardware isn't really compatible.

If you play oblivion, you're not able to open the console, while the receiver is plugged in. If you remove the USB Receiver, that you suddenly can open the console of Oblivion *chatt*

try the alternate driver with HIP....
it replaces the MS one and may allow concurrent access...not sure..
tho if the problem is with the blasters...hmmm,are you using the built-in MCE blaster support? i believe i can make an solution if it's a problem..

you'd have to re-learn your STB codes but it works great other than that..

are you trying to change the channels at same time on both?
or is one busying up the device for longer than it should be?

I'm not trying to change them both at once. But I think my commands are getting sent to the wrong instance of GBPVR. I believe the MVP is holding on to the resources and not giving it back. I'll try the other drivers and let you know.

I think you're right. The same thing also affects the USB-UIRT. I'd never noticed this before. I've corrected it for the next release.

ahhh,probably right...i know that you can't use HIP and load MCE at the same time because of concurrent usb-dongle access isn't allowed by the driver..
[both MCE and HIP need total access,and fight if you try to start MCE with HIP loaded]
hopefully they'll come out with new driver sometime in the future..
[i want my GBPVR *and* MCE too!]

Wow. Yes it definitely could be, as you say, related to my problem here.
