Yes, thats an option to, but he'll also need to remember to update bda.ini each time he installs a GB-PVR release.

Has anyone got scan channels to work? I always get "no channels found" from Craigkelly (Fife, Scotland) but ScanChannelsBDA seems to work OK.
Any ideas?

Uninstall it and you should be fine: Quote:14:26:50.750 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:

Freecom finally released the BDA drivers: http://www.freecom.com/objects/00008584.zip
Before installing the BDA drivers, remove all other drivers you have tried and re-install GBPVR. Install the freecom bda drivers and GBPVR will detect it straight away.

Hi Guys - have been a longtime lurker, but have now registered to post :o
I'm blessed with a v1 Freecom USB T-Stick, have been reluctantly using the Freecom drivers whilst waiting for them to release BDA Drivers... Have downloaded the new BDA drivers (uninstalled the previous drivers, rebooted, installed new drivers, rebooted, etc, etc), but GB-PVR can't find any channels. Tried using the ScanChannelBDA utility, but that can't find any channels either. Looks like something goes wrong when it tries to load TIF - whatever that is  Code: -----------------------

When you say you uninstalled the drivers - did you use the instructions and utility included in the new drivers? I tried both the BDA and proprietory drivers and found that the BDA uninstall utility was the only one capable of removing the old drivers (and new BDA drivers) thoroughly. MindStar Wrote:Tried using the ScanChannelBDA utility, but that can't find any channels either. Don't forget to edit BDA.ini in the gbpvr folder to correct the capitalisation of DVB-T in the Freecom 2 section. The only thing I'm stuck on is how to get the remote to work. Regards John

Aye, I used the BDA/WDM uninstall app that came with the new drivers and double-checked the %WINDOWS%/inf and %WINDOWS%/system32 folders.
GB-PVR does recognise that I have a Freecom DVB-T USB Stick, but it fails to find any channels -I'm guessing that the "Cannot load TIF" error may be related. Given that one-size-fits-all driver bundle and the hassles getting Third Party Drivers to work with v1 and v2 Freecom DVB-T USB sticks, I suspect that the portion of Freecom's BDA driver that supports the v1 DVB-T USB Stick is broken Am now using the Freecom WDM drivers and the HAMA DVB-T viewer, that supports DirectX Video Acceleration which makes a HUGE difference over the Freecom DVB-T software. It's not GB-PVR, but it's better than a kick in the teeth (just) Cheers, MindStar.

However, did you try running the ScanChannelsBDA_2-3a.exe software when you had the BDA drivers loaded? This would have confirmed the scan and capture device names. Checking these against the names in BDA.INI, you may find you need a new definition specifically for this combination of stick and driver. HTH Regards AI2 |
