I have never updated the bios, so I think it's the 1.0F.
I had a lot of problems in the start, I think most of them were with the display drivers and the via 4 in 1 drivers. I remember that I got the M10000 working nicely in Win2000 right up until I got the PVR-350 [Image: smile.gif] I'd install the drivers, do the reboot thing and just when the fun was about to start and I launced one of the Hauppauge TV apps the computer would reboot. This would continue for a couple of days while I was trying various driver combinations and windows versions. In the end I got it running in Win XP, but the video was always choppy. At leased I could now record stuff off the tv and watch it via the tv out on the PVR-350.
I then got a GeForce4 MX440 SE 64MB, 'cos I wanted to play some games on the computer. If I remember correctly I reinstalled windows at this point and once again it was doing funny stuff with the drivers. Anyway, I got it working again and I could watch tv in a window, right untill a month later or so when the tv app was showing a black screen but still playing the sound from the tv programs. After a lot of cursing and reinstalling I got picture on the screen for a couple of seconds, then the computer died again. It turned out that the PVR-350 was dead so I returned it and a month later I was ready to give it another try with a new card.
I had been thinking about what might have been wrong with the first card, the only thing I could thing of was that it got really hot, so I replaced the small black heatsink with a larger one. I installed the card and reinstalled windows XP, and after this the computer has been running fine. I haven't installed the drivers for the on-board graphics on the M10000, so I don't know if they were the ones making trouble. I don't know if it was a heat problem with the first PVR-350 either or if the first card was just fawlty.
I downloaded the newest drivers each time I reinstalled, so that could be the reson for the faultless opperation now [Image: smile.gif]

The earlier versions of GBpvr used to to strange things on my computer, but I think it has been very stable from..hmm.. version 0.17 I think, about the time when Sub added the feature that lets you select the codecs it's using.

I'll do a list of driver versions / codec settings later (that'll probably be more usefull than my ramblings about what doesn't work). [Image: smile.gif]

That would be great, if I can get mine working, we may atleast be able to work out what does cause the problem.

I use the Epia M10000 Nemihan. I also have the PVR350 and use the tv-out on that card. I don't have any real problems whit it. Some times it can be slow when going throuhg the menu but when watching shows it's fast. It works for me. I have Win XP pro SP2, 512MB Ram

yes, but what version specifically, your MB may not have come with the same bios version as mine, and there is much confusion over PVR drivers, so the exact version number would be very helpful.

Just a little tip about the sluggish menus, it seams to help a lot if you give GBpvr high priority on the system, maybe Sub could add this as an option somewhere? [Image: smile.gif]

Huw, I'll get back to you with some more bios info, but I'm having some minor harddisk trouble so it might take a couple of days (I lost the partition table on a disk, but it should be fine once the 80 gb data has been recovered to another disk [Image: smile.gif] ).

How do you change the priority of an application in XP ?

[Crtl] + [Alt] + [Del] (only once Wink ) -> maybe you get to another screen with some choices, maybe you get direct to 'Windows Process list' (I think, my XP is speaking Danish..), but choose that if you don't get there directly -> [Process] tab -> right click on GBPVR.exe -> Set Priority -> High or Above Normal

Windows gives some warnings, so I guess it could crash your system if it's trying to do something it thinks is inportant.
