I have never updated the bios, so I think it's the 1.0F.
I had a lot of problems in the start, I think most of them were with the display drivers and the via 4 in 1 drivers. I remember that I got the M10000 working nicely in Win2000 right up until I got the PVR-350 I'd install the drivers, do the reboot thing and just when the fun was about to start and I launced one of the Hauppauge TV apps the computer would reboot. This would continue for a couple of days while I was trying various driver combinations and windows versions. In the end I got it running in Win XP, but the video was always choppy. At leased I could now record stuff off the tv and watch it via the tv out on the PVR-350.
I then got a GeForce4 MX440 SE 64MB, 'cos I wanted to play some games on the computer. If I remember correctly I reinstalled windows at this point and once again it was doing funny stuff with the drivers. Anyway, I got it working again and I could watch tv in a window, right untill a month later or so when the tv app was showing a black screen but still playing the sound from the tv programs. After a lot of cursing and reinstalling I got picture on the screen for a couple of seconds, then the computer died again. It turned out that the PVR-350 was dead so I returned it and a month later I was ready to give it another try with a new card.
I had been thinking about what might have been wrong with the first card, the only thing I could thing of was that it got really hot, so I replaced the small black heatsink with a larger one. I installed the card and reinstalled windows XP, and after this the computer has been running fine. I haven't installed the drivers for the on-board graphics on the M10000, so I don't know if they were the ones making trouble. I don't know if it was a heat problem with the first PVR-350 either or if the first card was just fawlty.
I downloaded the newest drivers each time I reinstalled, so that could be the reson for the faultless opperation now
The earlier versions of GBpvr used to to strange things on my computer, but I think it has been very stable from..hmm.. version 0.17 I think, about the time when Sub added the feature that lets you select the codecs it's using.
I'll do a list of driver versions / codec settings later (that'll probably be more usefull than my ramblings about what doesn't work).
