Hello All-

I have just rebuilt my GB-PVR box from scratch after a motherboard failure (blown/leaked capacitors). Everything went flawlessly and I'm back up and running on a completely clean build using the SQL database option. In an oversite during setup, I had my system time set 12 hours off, so it was AM instead of PM. When I realized this, I shut down the interface and recording service and corrected the time, then started everything back up. It's now working fine again.

My problem is that I have a couple of recordings that are listed as failed, since I essentially skipped 12 hours of time. They show up on the recordings list in the client interface and in the web client, but I can't delete them in either place. I select "delete" but the entries are never actually removed, presumeably because there isn't an actual file to be deleted. What can I do to remove these entries from my list? I presume I'll need to open the database in an editing tool, but which tool is recommended and what should I look for to remove? Any help is appreciated.

Read the sticky 'v0.97.13 survival guide' thread.

For anyone who might find themselves in this position, here is what I did which seems to have worked great. I'm not a database guy by any means, but it only took a few minutes to figure it out:

* Downloaded SQLite Administrator (I tried SQLite Spy first, but couldn't get it to do what I wanted)
* Closed my interface and stopped my recording service
* Opened my gbpvr.db3 file in SQLite Administrator
* Double-clicked the RECORDING_SCHEDULE table in the left pane
* Clicked on the Edit Data tab in the right pane
* Found the failed recordings in the list. They both had a "status" value of 3, which I take to mean failed, since nothing else had that status.
* Clicked anywhere in that row so that it got marked with an arrow
* Clicked on the blue "minus sign" icon in the right pane, which deleted the row
* Exited and started my interface and recording service

Or just apply the patch from the v0.97.13 survival guide.

Which I did. I just thought it might be useful to post what I had worked through, in case anyone else wanted to get brave and poke around in the DB. It was a good learning experience for me. Smile

I've experienced the "failed recording" problem, but the patch was not a valid zip file according to Windows. Dedpoet's post about deleting the failed recording was the only thing that worked for me. Thanks Dedpoet!

That patch was just fine, but there is a problem lots of Internet Explorer users have downloading zip files from this webserver.

You can either:

- download using a different browser
- or, download using a download manager
- or, extract file from zip and give it the .zip extension, then open that to extract the real file
- or, disable HTTP1.1 extensions in your IE settings, then download again

Maybe it's a good idea to make a sticky of this so you can point to it very easily.
